Posted this over at Tulsaganstas acouple of days ago and didn't get much feed back so I figured I give it a shot over here.

Ok So this is my first post on this community and I've come of hiding (well not really hiding I do comment on things lol.) because of my Overwhelming Stupidity.  Ok so here's what happened.
I now have 8 tickets to see David Cook at the Starland ballroom in sayerville NJ on Thursday July 30th at 6:30pm I have know Idea how that happened I meant to buy two and ended up with 8. I currently have 2 or 3 left. It depends on if my friend can go or not. There Is a post over on my Journal that corresponds with this. (it says basically the same thing)
I'm am selling the tickets for $100.00 each as I paid $106.00 each and ended up with a grand total of $990.15. Like I said being stupid is expensive lol. According to the Invoice I got its says the seats are in front of the stage. I have the tickets in my possesion now.
So anyway please let me know if you are interested I really need to sell these tickets.
Also some one over at Tulsaganstas said that the venue website said that the show was general admission just thaought I'd share that with you. Thanks for taking time to read this.
Also I'm still trying to get an ansewer from said friend, but it seems that no one bothers to answer the phone over there lol.

I've been a lurker in the community for...well, basically since season 7 when I really fell in love with David Cook, but I've never made any posts here until now.

So, David is coming to Foxwoods in Connecticut on August 1st. I'm already planning on going (sadly, with my mother but she -likes- David enough to tolerate him and I have no friends who are into his music, so I'd rather go with her instead of having to go by myself or not go at all). I'm currently working on getting tickets, and then I'm there. I missed the last time he was in Connecticut (and didn't go to the season 7 tour, which was STUPID of me), so I am determined to go to this one.

Now, I've read many stories and seen pictures and such of fans getting to meet David at the concerts, either before or after or whatever, via this community. I feel a little silly about posting this, but I figured I would so that I could know what to expect.

1. Since the show is at 8:00, I'm assuming that the meet and greet sort of thing would be before the concert, right? Or could it really go either way?
2. How early do you guys think I should get there if I want to do the meet and greet thing and it's before 8:00?
3. What do you guys think are the chances of my being successful in getting to at least take a picture with him, or maybe get an autograph? I know that David generally makes an effort to make sure he meets his fans, which is encouraging, at least.
4. Is anyone else planning on going to that concert? Just curious. :)
5. Any suggestions for what I could have him sign if I do get his autograph? I could bring a marker and have him sign a t-shirt...or I was thinking of maybe buying the CD (because I don't have a copy, I just downloaded the songs) and having him sign the cover or something.

Edit: also, feel free to tell me any of your success stories with meeting him...and any suggestions for what to possibly say. Though I'm betting that I would get all tongue tied when trying to say something, just from being so star struck.

I wasn't sure what to tag this as, so I just left the tags blank for now.

Thanks to anyone who answers any/all of these questions. :D

I had the good fortune of pulling some old strings from my Americanidol.com days, and I was able to speak with David Cook on the phone this weekend. I couldn't wait to ask him about his surprising stage presence that I noticed when I caught his recent show in Del Mar, CA. It's not that I was shocked that it was such a great show (as I explained to him), but was more intrigued by how much the seemingly subdued singer really came out of his shell and engaged the audience. As David explained, he has a bit of a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde stage persona, and it's something that has evolved further over the last few years. As he so eloquently put it, the "on stage David" is a bit "more of a pain in the ass!" I also had to ask him about the cover song that he did, as it's been bugging me that I couldn't remember, and was holding my one-year-old, which presents some challenges when you're trying to take notes. He said that it was the one-hit-wonder "Shattered Dreams" by a band called Johnny Hates Jazz. David said that has some other covers up his sleeve, but his band hasn't pulled them out yet, like a hard rock version of "I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight" and Nine Inch Nails' "Every Day Is Exactly The Same".

Cherry Lane Music Publishing Co. has signed a worldwide, long-term publishing agreement with 2008 “American Idol” winner and songwriter David Cook. As part of the deal, Cherry Lane will be administering Cook’s current catalog and will hold co-publishing rights in any new writing opportunities that are set up through Cherry Lane.

“Everyone knows David Cook the American Idol winner,” Cherry Lane senior VP of creative services and marketing Richard Stumpf said in a statement. But after early discussions with Cook, “I was most impressed with David Cook the gifted songwriter,” said Stumpf.

The deal was negotiated by Stumpf, Cherry Lane VP of business & legal affairs Keith Hauprich, and Iain Pirie at 19 Entertainment and Howard Siegel at Pryor Cashman LLP.
