David was awesome! He always is, but today was fun. He did 4 songs and they were great. Well received by the crowd and he's still a sweetheart!!

Inauguration Kick-off Celebration feat. David Hernandez!!!!!

Body: A few months ago I was asked by Norman Lear and Declare Yourself (www. declareyourself. com) to be a part of an incredible song titled "Born Again American".

We recorded the vocals and my portion of the video in 1 hour right in front of the Red Rock Mountains in Colorado. The video includes many other talented and unknown musicians from across the United States and sends a strong message about what it is to be an American. Obama's campaign is behind the project and I know it will inspire so many people as the inauguration approaches.

I am honored to say that I was recently asked to sing the song with 4 of the other musicians in the video at the INAUGURATION KICK OFF CELEBRATION in Washington, D.C. hosted by JESSICA ALBA which will include performances by MAROON 5 & other special guests AND MYSELF!!

The video will be RELEASED ON ITUNES later this week so make sure you keep checking back.
It will also AIR for the first time NATIONALLY ON BILL MOYER'S JOURNAL THIS FRIDAY!!

Eric West Teams With American Idol David Hernandez On Debut Album



Actor and singer Eric West who earned honors as one of US Weekly's One's To Watch and IMDB.com's Top Fresh Faces is also adding songwriter and producer to his list of jobs as he works with American Idol alumni David Hernandez on his upcoming debut album.

David Hernandez's untitled album is scheduled to arrive next year. Eric West is also finishing work on his long-awaited debut album, which brings together an A-list of guest producers, which will also arrive in 2009. His previous credits including working with Mario, Cher, Jeannie Ortega and Daniel De Bourg.

I'm excited about his project, the best part is always writing from a different point of views says Eric.

West will be on hand on December 8th, 2008 for The 2008 Ladies Lotto 3rd Annual Benefit: A Fundraiser for Charity Water in New York City.

Hernandez heads on out an 18 city US tour as part of the Idols In Concert Tour with past Idol stars Diana Degarmo, Kimberley Locke and Chikezie Eze.

A typical American Idol "scandal" couldn't slow him down, in fact, it might have helped launch David Hernandez into music stardom.

Jeremy Bradley- David Hernandez. Season 7 joining us now. Hey, David.
David Hernandez- How you doing?
JB- Good. How are you?
DH- Fantastic. I got my Starbucks.
JB- You just got your Starbucks and you also just got your car hit.
DH- I did. I got my car hit by an elderly lady. I don't think she was paying attention. I don't even know if she could see, to be honest, but she was driving, and she opened her door into mine. I'm annoyed about that, but I have Starbucks, so that makes me a little bit happy.
JB- So you are a coffee person?
DH- I'm a huge coffee person if it's Starbucks. I don't really like black coffee. I'll handle it with some creamer in it; that's all I have to drink. But I'm a huge fan of caramel macchiattos and those mixed coffee drinks.
JB- Do you believe that I've never had a sip of coffee in my life?
DH- Yeah, I don't believe that.
JB- Isn't that crazy? Seriously.
DH- You haven't lived, if you haven't had Starbucks.
JB- I mean, I enjoy the vodka.
DH- Vodka's good, too. Kahlua and coffee's also great.
JB- What were you drinking yesterday at karaoke?
DH- Oh.. (laughing) I don't remember. (laughing)
JB- That's a good thing.
DH- I was drinking water with lemon.
JB- Oh? I get messed up on that, too. Mineral water.
DH- I'm high on life.
JB- You know, Kool-Aid does the same thing to me. Two glasses of cherry Kool-Aid. I'm done.
DH- (laughing) That's fantastic.

But I just wanted to clarify to my fans, that YO NAME is not a new song....and neither are the pictures...in fact they are close to 4 YEARS OLD!!! LOL.....As you can guess, my voice and writing style has improved since then...

Now, while I am still proud of the music, this is not my first single and will not be on my first record......

David Hernandez joins 'Idols in Concert' at the Rrazz Room

"I always feel most at home onstage, much more than in an interview."

David Hernandez just wants to sing. He'll do just that when he performs at the Nikko Hotel's intimate Rrazz Room with fellow American Idol alumni Constantine Maroulis and Vonzell Solomon, August 12-16, part of an extensive tour of popular finalists in the hit TV show.

Along with occasional gigs at the Los Angeles club Le Deux, Hernandez has been keeping busy with developing and recording his own songs. "I was just on the USS Midway for July 4, performing for 4,000 people on the ship," said Hernandez with pride. "There were about 300 soldiers from Iraq there, too. I also did a duet with Carly Smithson."

The natural ease Hernandez has while performing comes from years of training. "I learn the lyrics for the songs in a day," he said. "I hate looking into a song more than a few times; it ruins the spontaneity.

Idols for the Holidays

If there’s anyone who knows how to capitalize on the “Idol” phenomenon, it’s Michael Orland.

Michael is the Pianist, Arranger and Associate Musical Director for “Idol.” But now, he has added musical director to his resume as he is directing two “Idol”-related shows.

“Idols in Concert!” has been appearing at the Rrazz Room at Hotel Nikko San Francisco since July 1st. Three Idols take the stage each night for solo, duet and ensemble performances from among 16 participating throughout the two-month run. Idols scheduled to appear are: Anwar Robinson, LaKisha Jones, Jon Peter Lewis, Gina Glocksen, Rickey Smith, Mikalah Gordon, Julia DeMato, Trenyce, RJ Helton, Constantine Maroulis, Jasmine Trias, Vonzell Solomon, Brandon Rogers, Christina Christian, Leah LaBelle, Camile Velasco and a special Idol to be announced later.

Now, Michael is adapting that show for the holidays with “Idols in Concert for the Holidays!” This time, however, the show is going on the road. The quartet scheduled to appear is Kimberly Caldwell, Diana DeGarmo, David Hernandez and Constantine Maroulis.

Michael tells me that the schedule hasn’t been set yet, but that it’s going to be “busy.” You know I am all over this one because of David and Constantine, so I will definitely keep you updated if this one comes close…

And you know I am hoping that it does…
