Welcome to ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} dattebayo_still, an icontest devoted to the manga/anime, Naruto, which was created by Masashi Kishimoto. -- For those of you who don't know what an icontest is: it is a place where icon makers of all skill levels submit icons to fit a given theme on a weekly basis. At the end of the week, the icons are then put up anonymously and people vote on their favorite three. One is also voted for a special category, along with a moderator's choice. The winners are then posted a few days later, and the winners can get their very own banners to show that they won. |
->Keep it friendly. Don't bring your drama here. ->No criticism, please. (Unless stated so.) ->Don't take icons without permission. ->You must be a member to submit icons and to vote. ->No animated icons, doujinshi, or fanart is allowed unless specifically stated. ->Icons must be new and fit LJ standards. (100x100 and 40kb) ->Your submission(s) must remain anonymous. Do not post or use your submissions anywhere until the winners are announced or your icon will be disqualified. ->Moderators and bannermakers can participate in the contests. ->Up to three icons can be submitted per challenge. ->All submissions must be your own creations! Plagiarism and icon stealing are not allowed and will result in disqualification of your icon. |
->Icons should fit the given theme. If you have any questions as to whether it does, just post a comment asking and the moderators will be happy to help. ->Submit your icons only on the submission post; all comments will be screened. All moderators will be able to see them, but no one else will. ->Imageshack, Photobucket, or any similar site may be used to host icons. Livejournal userpic space is not recommended. Here is an example of how icons should be submitted:  imageurl.png GENERAL TIMELINE: Monday: New Theme Posted Monday-Friday: Icon Submission Begins Saturday: Submissions Ends/Voting Begins Sunday: 12:00am [U.S. Eastern Time] Voting Ends/Winners Revealed (Mid-Week reminders always go out on Wednesdays) There may be times when your mods are a bit busy, so the community will run a bit late, but by the next week it should return to normal. |
->Please don't vote for yourself, or ask friends to vote for you! ->Do not vote for an icon because you think you know who made it. ->Icons should each recieve one vote at most, unless you vote one for the top three AND the special category. You will commonly be asked to vote for a First, Second, Third and a Special Category, unless otherwise stated. Voting should look something like: 1st: 09 2nd: 12 3rd: 15 SC (Special Category): 05 OR 09, 12, 15 05. Every week will have a Special Category, which could range from: Most Creative - the icon that shows the most creativity Best Colors - the icon that shows the best use of colors Best Emotion - the icon that shows the best emotion Best Crop - the icon that was cropped the best Best Interpretation - the icon that best interprets the given theme Best Picture - the icon that used the best image(s) Most Useable Icon - the icon that you would be most likely to use on LJ Also, with weeks that have 20 or more icons, the moderator may include a second Special Category. |
