About

This is the comm for posting all those weird, funny, desperate and insane solicitations you receive from would-be suitors on the internets - myspace, yahoo, tribe, okcupid, etc. I often find myself fielding some bizarre and interesting requests and conversations from people on networking dating sites that I would love to share, but find that the subject doesn't really fit on any of my present comms, such as [info]dot_poly_snark or [info]dot_bdsm_snark. Even if you're not trying to date online, if you maintain profiles on networking sites, chances are you're going to get those bizarre drive-bys that make you go "WTF"?

Anything is fair game - chat logs, dating profiles, LJ community posts, horror stories of dates gone bad, stupid articles about dating - as long as it's on the topic of the travails of dating, especially online dating. (This is not for relationship drama, though.) Bonus points for chat logs of your snarktastic verbal smackdowns of interweb creepazoids.

Rules....

+ Please put pictures and NSFW materials behind a lj-cut, and mark them as such
+ Don't dish it out if you can't take it. People without a sense of humor probably won't be banned, but they will be mercilessly mocked.
+ Online dating in any sexual orientation or lifestyle is acceptable to be discussed - straight, gay, bi, polyamorous, monogamous, kinky, whatever. We're here to snark the perpetually clueless and desperate....not to make offensive statements about people of opposing lifestyles or types.
+ Almost everyone and everything is fair game - as long as it's on topic - but obvious trolling and flaming won't be tolerated.
+ Please do not "out" people - don't publish people's real names or contact information. If they are dumb enough to include such information in a public profile, linking to it is fine; but don't supply information they haven't already, and please edit out all identifying details from personal correspondence and chat logs (name, city, phone number, etc). Usernames are okay, but if you reprint them, friendslocking might be a good idea (though it's not required).
+ No advertising - spam will result in moderation and likely bannanation. Promoting related communities is okay, provide that they would also allow us to promote as well.
