In Honor of the 30th Anniversary...
Welcome to
darth_artsy's 8th official fan art contest! (Wow, can you believe it's been 10 months since our last one? I think it's time to shake some new life into this place!) As always, the contest is open to community members, and if you're not a member yet, just click here and join the fun!

THE CONTEST: Create your own piece of Star Wars: A New Hope themed fan art. It can feature any character(s) you want, as long as they appeared in the original 1977 movie. Your fan art can be any size, any medium, color, black-n-white, realistic, cartoony -- it's totally up to you -- Just be creative and have fun!
THE DEADLINE: The deadline for posting artwork is Wednesday, January 31st at 10:00pm (Central U.S. time) -- that should be plenty of time to come up with your masterpiece. You can post your entry anytime between now and the deadline. Please note: you cannot submit more than one piece of artwork for the contest. If you submit more than one image, only the first one you posted will qualify. Also, please keep large images behind an LJ-cut. For those of you who don't know how to post images, contact me and I'll help you out. Also, make sure you post your submission here in the community. We may not see submissions that are accidentally posted in your personal journal.
DETERMINING WINNERS: Immediately following the January 31st deadline, an LJ poll will be set up to determine the winner(s). The poll will close on Saturday, February 3rd at 10:00pm (Central U.S. time).
THE PRIZES:
If there are between 1 and 10 contest entries, one winner will be chosen (obviously, the person with the most votes) and that winner can choose any one of the listed prize choices. If there are between 11 and 20 contest entries, there will be a 1st and 2nd place winner, and the 1st place winner will choose a prize, then the 2nd place winner will choose one from the remaining two items. If there are 21 contest entries or more, we will have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner, and prize choosing will happen in that order. As you can see, the prizes to choose from will be a Titanium Die-Cast Darth Maul Sith Speeder, a Galactic Heroes Sandtrooper & Obi-Wan pack and a Gentle Giant Clone Wars Bust-Up of Obi-Wan Kenobi. The prizes are all in package, brand new and waiting to be shipped out as my way of saying thanks for being part of the community, and thanks for creating such excellent artwork for our contest. :)

As always, this is meant to be a fun event for the community. Even if you don't win, you'll still have a great new piece of Star Wars fan art to show off to the world, so it's a win-win situation. Good luck to everyone, and I hope we get a ton of submissions!!
And Happy Anniversary to that Galaxy Far, Far Away!! :)
