Basic Info AboutDark Rhapsody is a FREE Goth "club" held at the Sly Fox hotel in Enmore, Sydney.
But what makes Dark Rhapsody different is that it does not have any actual DJs.
Partway between a club and an open-invitation party, it is a DIY event where you choose the music. Each time it is held, 7 people submit a 40 minute set on a CD to be played on the night. It is a chance for people to have some of their favourite songs played for others to hear. And because there is no pressure to keep a dancefloor filled, contributors are able (indeed, encouraged) to be adventurous and include rarities, lesser-known artists, album tracks and other songs that don't get a lot of dancefloor play.
The emphasis is on Goth and Darkwave music. Other related genres are of course welcomed, but the intention is that a reasonable amount of honest-to-god Goth and Darkwave music will be played in a night.
