Welcome to the Dark Harry Potter Icontest! This icontest is dedicated to the dark and somber aspects of the Harry Potter universe. There will be no lovey dovey romance, shipping, or winner take all themes here. This icontest was created to focus on characters and events in Harry Potter that are often overlooked, either because they are evil, depressing, or often misunderstood.

| Rules |
01. You must be a member to enter. So JOIN
02. Most challenges will have its own set of guidelines.
03. Remember Livejournal icon standard. 100x100, 40k, JPG, GIF, or PNG.
04. You may enter icons smaller than 100x100.
05. Please, make a new, refreshing icon for each challenge.
06. Do not use someone elses bases either. That's cheating or not doing all the work.
07. Putting your name in the file of the icon is CHEATING. Don't do it.
08. You may only post your icon entered in the challenge after winners of that challenge is announced.
09. Please remember to put your icon(s) URL under your icon.It won't be submitted if you forget.
10. When voting, you're NOT ALLOWED TO VOTE FOR YOURSELF!
11. Do not ask anybody to vote for you.
12. Anonymous votes won't be accepted;
13. Vote fairly.
*14. Extended challenges will only be put out when there are no entries (ex: if only one icon has been submitted then guess what they win because at least they put some effort in)
~ Anyone who does not abide by these rules (or any others sprinkled throughout the user info) will be banned.

| Submissions |
New challenges will be posted on Mondays (no later than Tuesday). Submissions end on Friday at 11 PM PST. When participating, you must post your icons as a comment to the challenge post along with the images urls. All comments will be screened. One or more of your entries may be rejected if it/they does/do not follow the rules stated above.

Voting will be up by Saturdays Voting will be closed on Sunday 12pm PST (You can check your time zone right here)
You choose your top icons like so:
1st Place: #
2nd Place: #
3rd Place: #
~ Voting is weighted! This means that 1st Place counts as 3 points, 2nd place counts as 2 points and 3rd place counts as 1 point.
~ Until the voting is done and the winners are announced, you are not allowed to post the icon(s) you submitted anywhere. There is a reason for this.
~ You do not have a to be a member of this community to vote, though it would be nice. ^_^
~ Each voting period will have a Mod's Choice (depending if there are ties XD). That is chosen by the moderator.
