| About: | -Picture your normal, everyday life. You get up, brush your hair, go to school or work, you take shit from your teachers or boss, you come home, watch T/V, eat a bit of the Chinese you ordered two nights ago, you decide that the homework or that account database can just fuck itself for now and go to bed, wishing for something a bit more rewarding in life. As you lie in your bed, or in your dormroom, you stare blankly at the ceiling, annoyed as Hell that that arrogant bastard cut you off at that red light or you're just bored out of your mind because your head is buzzing with that last episode of the X-Files and how hot agent Scully really is... Curiously, the last thing you see before falling asleep is a flare of darkness. And then you wake up. At first it has to be some sort of joke. You sit up, and have absolutely no idea where you are because the dark, cozy little domocile of your home or dormroom has vanished without a trace. Rather than the floorboards creaking as your little sister or your roommate gets a glass of milk, you hear the irrevocable roar of the ocean. Rather than birds chirping outside your window, you hear strange noises of wilderness behind you, along with human screams. Rather than your bumpy white ceiling, you see a deep gray sky above you. You sit up, and try to make sense of things. 'A dream...' your mind tells you. 'You're just dreaming. Go back to sleep-' Your mind is cut off as a freezing wave of ocean water comes crashing over you, and sends you crumpling into the murky grey sand a bundle of shivering misery, that hasn't woken up. So much for that. And then you find out you have three days left to live. This would pretty much be our story, right here. RULES!! READ THIS BEFORE POSTING PLEASE!! Note: Chances are you know what's expected if you happen to be a part of this RP group. But this is just for any newbies who happen to stumble across our RP. I do hate to do this and sound like such a stick in the mud, but like everything in life, this RP community DOES have rules for anyone out there who wants to join. Follow these simple rules however, and we should all get on like fire on a straw house! ...Er...wait... 1) READ THE RPG before posting! If you're joining late and happen to have a lot to read through then try asking a member or an RP-member here for a quick uptake and I'm sure they'll be more than happy to save you the reading trouble. But make sure you have a bloody clue what's going on before you post, or I'll have to invalidate and delete your post and give you a warning. Thanks! 2) No Mary-Sues, Gary-Stus, or twink characters. Two Words: THEY'RE. BORING. For lord's sakes, give your character SOME weaknesses or flaws. And if you're going to fight another character, be sure to settle the outcome of the battle with that person outside RP bounds, because killing off someone's character and giving them NO chance to defend themselves simply isn't fair at all. If I see any of that, the post will be invalidated and deleted on sight, and the poster will be banned for a time I see fit. Simple as that. 3) While simple IM formatted RPs can prove more convenient, use of the novel format and proper english is strongly encouraged. ...In fact, it's actually not even encouraged, it's REQUIRED. That means I DON'T want to see the beautiful writing styles of our resident PGs and their RP dismantled by the likes of: Johnny: Well I KIDNAP your GURLFREND!!!11!!!!! *takes out swrd & kills u!!* Random Guy: OMG NO!!!!!!!!!! *is verry SAD!!!!* Posts will be deleted on sight and you'll be out of here. Simple as that. Minor exceptions of lack of proper english in the novel format (ex: mix-ups of their and they're, etc.) include english not being the second language, and will be discussed at the discretion of the poster in question and moi, should that occasion ever arise. 4) While I am willing to let this RP go to the Teen rating, (meaning I will allow violence, adult themes and language) consider yourself banned if I see any explicit details that prove unnecessary to the advancement or themes of the plot as it cycles. (Meaning what the hell would an explicit porn scene have to do with survivng on an island?) Lemons, explicit adult crimes and elements I find just unnecessary to the plot will be deleted and the poster banned. Believe it or not young people do come across these things and I will NOT be held responsible for any corruption as I have never played a part in the corruption of youth and I don't plan to. 5) Consider yourself banned if you post materials irrelevant to the RP. This journal is not your personal blog or your place for dirty laundry. You have your own LJ for that. 6) Consider yourself banned if you bring ANY unnecessary drama to this community. I understand that not all posters will agree with additions to the plot and may not always get along, but there are various messenger systems that make good alternatives for venting and making due civil argument rather than using this community to both disrupt plot, and harmony among creators as they attempt to use this place to RP and improve their writing skills. If I see it, both that poster and ANY posters involved will have their posts invalidated and will be banned. I don't care who started it, I'M finishing it. Then conditions for re-entry into the community will be discussed at the discretion of the PGs. 7) Character descriptions or pictures can be posted as an OOC post, (PICTURES MUST BE BEHIND AN LJ CUT! Not everyone has modems or servers friendly to gallery entries.) but beyond that the character is required to try to participate and all OOC materials must be made in parenthesis before a brief addition to the plot. 8) This was already established in the disclaimer, but DO NOT take these characters or these plots for your own use WITHOUT the consent of the majority of the community. That's called plagiarism, and it's simply not nice at all. Posters of the plagiarising persuasion will be banned permanently, no questions asked, period, the end, end of story, NO EXCEPTIONS. Thank you. 9) Please try to get along with everyone here. Don't be stubborn! Listen to others' ideas and by joining here you have impressed unto me that you are a mature writer, and thus you understand that you are REQUIRED to see your fellow RPers as equals, their ideas as valid, and their wishes are to be respected at all times and costs, and you understand why. (Slight inconvenience to a romance scene between your characters is NOT an excuse to completely null someone else's post!) 10) RESPECT MAH FRIGGIN' AUTHORITAH! Meaning if you disagree with a decision I have made regarding the consequences I have issued to a rule breaker, or regarding other such matters with the community itself, (i.e you don't think the layout really fits, you're having problems reading the RP because of the font, etc.) then you will KINDLY take it up with me in a RESPECTFUL tone and I will kindly let you plead your case and try to accomodate your wishes as best as I can, though I can't promise 100 percent satisfaction. There are others posters here too you know! And failure to retain respect for the maintainer or the other RP-Members is considered a jackass level three offense. Meaning that if you want to flame me, Ariae, or Chibi for something as silly as a layout or a rule enforcement, then you can get the hell off my community. This is a dictatorship and I'm your local policing maintainer. I don't make the rules, I just-er....oh, yes I do. But I think they're simple rules to follow, so shut up. | ||
