About
[info]dark_heathens is a place where people who practice all forms of Heathen worship, including Jotnar worship, can feel safe. Although the name implies that "dark" powers and deities are emphasized here, it is not true. The light is revered as well and people who worship "lighter" deities should feel free to express their reverence of those powers here as well. Aesir and Vanir followers are as welcome as those who honor the Rokkr or "darker" wights such as the Svartalfar.

--membership is closely moderated. If your LJ is new, devoid of entries, and devoid of friends you will be rejected. If there is no indication on your LJ that you are at all interested in Heathenry in some form you will be rejected. If you are a known troll you will be rejected.

--this community is meant to be a safe haven for those who may worship powers that "conventional" modern Heathenry might look down upon, i.e. Loki and Rokkr worship. It goes without saying that Loki and Rokkr bashing will not be tolerated here. In fact bashing of any Deity or wight will not be tolerated period. I don't care what your personal feelings towards a particular Deity are...saying "I don't get along with them for personal reasons" is fine. Saying "you are wrong for worshipping __" or "you are a fool for worshipping __" or "no one should worship __ since I got a problem with them" is not.

--debate is fine. Respectfully disagreeing with someone's opinion or UPG is fine. Outright saying that someone is "doing it wrong" or flaming is not. Let's respect the concept of Frith and try to be mature adults here.

Feel free to express your devotion for all the powers of the North here.
