Although it isn't mentioned on the site, dominionists would like to force single moms into marriage on pain of removing custody of their kids and giving their kids to "nice, Christian homes". Some groups have even proposed the massive re-setup of orphanages.
Yes, this has included on occasion promoting the idea that rape victims marry their rapists :P
As for women who are single parents due to domestic violence, dominionists are against the idea of divorce or separation for any reason (in fact, many are pushing for "covenant marriage"--which would make it legally impossible for many persons to divorce an abusive spouse, as divorces are typically prohibited if kids are in the marriage and both parties and a judge have to consent to divorce during the few times it's allowed) and have literally told women to "stand by their man" even in cases where the husband is sexually molesting their children. Here, too, they want women to stay with their abusers--on pain of having their children removed.
Yes, it *is* creepy, and yes, it *is* reminiscent of a plot point in "The Handmaid's Tale".

Well, there goes someone else telling me what I am based on my circumstances. So, just because I was raised by a single mother -- and thus without a strong father figure around all the time -- I am not a "healthy man"? Damn, and here I thought I was being healthy, what with being successfully growing a career, being respectful of others as people (you know, like actually making eye contact with the opposite sex, such a tough thing for men to do!), and being giving of my time, money, and care to help others where I can. To think, all this time, I was just being a defective man. *sighs*
This is almost as funny as the time someone in a loose group of acquaintances of mine told me that I wasn't a person because I was born through C-section...

You're damned straight this is part of the dominionist "parallel economy": http://www.straightpride.com/links.phpLet's see the lovely gallery of rogues promoted: a) Roger Hedgecock is a radio personality that, frankly, makes Rush Limbaugh look like a flaming liberal in comparison. Among other things, he's a regular apologist for dominionists in the US government, and is so anti-immigration that the Southern Poverty Law Center has expressed grave concern--he's also been to meetings with radio personalities linked to Ron "Ten Commandments" Moore (and who work at a station owned by dominionist state legislator Hank Erwin, who has proposed placing warning labels on HIV medication sold in the state warning people to "choose a better lifestyle" and who has claimed that Hurricane Katrina is divine retribution against Louisiana and Mississippi) and--even more disturbingly--frankly racist groups like the Council of Conservative Citizens. Roger Hedgecock was also a major force calling for recall in California; Hedgecock has occasionally subbed for Rush Limbaugh and almost every time he's subbed Media Matters has posted with deep concern. b) The AFA. Known dominionists, and in fact among the most vociferously anti-LGBT (besides Fred Phelps) of any national-interest dominionist group. State affiliates have been known to promote a book, "The Pink Swastika", which claims the Nazi party was based totally within the LGBT community in Germany and that the Holocaust was entirely conducted by gay people (in fact, gay people were one of the primary *targets* of the Holocaust); thus they can be said to literally be promoting Holocaust revisionism. Other examples of *typical* statements on LGBT individuals by AFA leaders are here. c) Family.org, homesite of Focus on the Family--probably the largest dominionist group in the country at this point. Dobson has promoted religiously motivated child abuse (including spanking infants for crying about wet diapers) and in his best-selling book documents an episode of animal abuse in the first chapter to document how children "need their wills broken". Focus on the Family is also increasingly anti-gay. d) Family Research Council is also dominionist, is even more politically active than FotF (in fact, Family Research Council started off as a 501(c)4 split of FotF when the latter was in danger of losing their tax exempt status for electioneering) and has assisted in coordinating many political efforts of dominionists. e) Concerned Women for America is a dominionist group led by Barbara LaHaye (wife of Tim LaHaye, most known nowadays for the "Left Behind" books--fictionalisations of the premillenial-dispensationalist concept of the "rapture" and "tribulation"). Dominionist, explicitly premillenial dispensationalist and apocalyptic, and has promoted some stances that are radical even for many conservative Christians (including the concepts of "covenant marriage", for example). f) Rock for Life is a branch of American Life League, an extreme dominionist "pro-life" group that is also one of the primary groups in the dominionist community that is in opposition to not only abortion but practically all forms of contraception as well</a> and has promoted misinformation to women for thirty-odd years (a good recent expose is available at Talk2Action here).
So yeah, saying it's part of the dominionist shadow economy is an understatement.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have sent the e-mail to her. It's a bit long, but it is as follows: Dear Ms. Spaulding,
I am writing to inform you of a certain discovery that I have found on the Internet. The website is:
http://www.straightpridewear.com
It seems to be a small clothing company that promotes an agenda of "keeping marriage between one man and one woman". This may not be bad in and of itself, but "dogemperor" from Talk2Action (who happens to be a member of the LiveJournal community, "dark_christian", as well) did a little research and ran upon this information:You're damned straight this is part of the dominionist "parallel economy": http://www.straightpride.com/links.phpLet's see the lovely gallery of rogues promoted: a) Roger Hedgecock is a radio personality that, frankly, makes Rush Limbaugh look like a flaming liberal in comparison. Those theiving bastards. I made a Straight Pride flag and t-shirts years ago (a plain white box with plain black text saying "Straight Pride" in the most boring way possible) and there they come, screwing up my ideas with their "message"
Anyway, I love it when websites like this make it easy to write your congress critters, and I take full advantage of the oppertunity. Here is my modified version of their letter:
I DO NOT support the proposed Institution of Marriage Amendment, nor do I support the Federal Marriage Amendment, and I encourage you to oppose this horrible legislation as well. Both amendments define marriage as the union between a man and a woman, and I believe that neither the State nor Federal government has the right or the ultimate authority to dictate who a citizen chooses to marry. While the Federal Marriage Amendment essentially permits marriage of same sex couples by affording partners within civil unions the rights and status of a spouse, it is not fitting with the spirit of the U.S. Constitution to withhold rights. Rather, the Constitution and Amendments guarantee legal rights and precedent, and provide a framework by which the citizens of the United States allow themselves to be governed; using this document to deny rights to a particular group of people, based on nothing more than sexual preference is abhorrent, and boarders on treason. We do not need legislation that protects the institution of marriage, nor do we need laws that strip the rights of citizens based on a particular group's moral convictions. The United States was founded on the principals of Liberty and Justice for All, not just some. I urge you and your colleagues in Congress to oppose the Institution of Marriage Amendment.
