Hey guys! I was wondering if there's anyone here that's willing to take on being my beta. I'm currently writing my first D/J story and need someone to check it for pretty much everything... grammar, characterization, etc. Just as a fair warning, I can't spell to save me life lol

If anyone's interested, please let me know... :D

I actually thought of asking you, too. But I think what I'll do is make a list of Beta volunteers in our user info.

Acutally, ok. Yes.

State that the mods are going to use this post to put together a list of beta volunteers that we'll post on the profile. Maybe change the title to Req: Beta Volunteers Wanted or something.

One caveat to this before I truly get into things. My spelling isn't too bad, but will we be going with American spelling or British spelling? ie do I or do I not include 'u's in words like colour(color) and neighbour(neighbor). Just a question.

I don't have the time to do exhaustive beta-ing, but I have a four-month-old baby and am willing to act as a pregnancy/parenting resource for people who have questions for their fic. Obviously my experiences aren't going to be the same as anyone else's, but I might be able to provide more accurate information than TV or movies.

I'm willing to beta, but I have:

a. never done it before

b. am not super great at telling if the characterization is good or not

c. don't have a lot of free time, but could get back to the person within at least a week. (I promise.)

I'm also a stickler for grammar and spelling, so if that's your only problem, I would be a good beta for that, I guess
