So I saw The Dark Knight. [19 Jul 2008|01:19am] isabel79 [ mood | content ] [ music | Suo Gan ] Mom came home.  Me and my paranoid self was worried that tickets would be sold out and Mom was dilly dallying.  Asked to buy lotto.  Then...  I took a route I normally take during lunch hour and is faster, but...  With rush hour, trains...  Ugh.  We theoretically could have made the 4:10, instead of the intended 4:40...  Leaving like an hour before, we get there like 20 mins before.  Line...  Sure it wasn't around the building or anything, but I was getting freaked out that people were walking out with tickets.  The line wrapped around a small lobby, but I heard the person ramble off a list of times...  Why?  Sold out?  I was paranoid...  So I went to the self serve machines and got the tickets no prob.  It was probably 3/4th filled. Oh yeah, I swear to God I saw 50 Cent!  I'm not the only one!  The dude next to me makes a comment that...  So and so in a commercial was the real 50 cent!  So...  I'm at least not crazy in thinking the dude looked a lot like him.  He was with some chick, which I highly doubt is Shaniqua.  They sat in the far back corner and were the last to leave.  Suspicious... "Previews."  Long Way Down one night showing...  Director's cut.  I've DL'd the series and don't have the channel it will be on...  I may buy the DVDs when they are out, depending on the extras...  But it wasn't as good as the 1st.  No offence to Eve...  But she was kinda annoying.  Is it even playing here? One night reshowing of War Games...  Sequel!?!  WHAT!?! Terminator movie.  CB!!!  Uh...  I honesty don't know if I will see it.  If it's like Batman / a retelling, I may see it.  A continuation...  I don't know the story enough.  I mean, I couldn't even follow the TV show really.  Uh...  Why did I see the 3rd movie???  But then again, I said I probably wouldn't see Batman Begins.  HAHAHA!!! ( OK, so the movie... ) Anyway, I started watching Empire Of The Sun.  I had intended to watch everything I have, but I think I'll go with what I have on DVD first.  Or maybe things I really want to see...  I saw a review by Siskel and Ebert, saying there is no clear story.  If you wanted to tell a story of war through a child's eyes watch...  What is that movie??  The one where a bomb hits a lake and there's dinner...  Anyway, Ebert (?) does say it's a coming of age story...  I guess it's clearer in the book.  About not wanting the war to end, cause that meant going to England where he had never been, having to go back to school, to basically really grown up.  I really need to read that again. Oh...  "Edit" to add cause it's just too funny...  Misheard - Suo Gan - Empire of the sun Then, when we left the theater at 7:30, there was a line around the building...  But I think it was advanced ticket holders.  Who knows if it was sold out. Monk! Horatio Hornblower?  As in the answer to the movie with Gregory Peck and the hat?  OK, maybe Billy Two Hats? Lol.  Did he say sex lovers? Commercial...  Meningitis vaccine!?!  Are you serious!?!  Plus they make it sound like meningitis is like mono.  Sharing drinks, kissing.  WHAT!?!  Long story short.  Is it really necessary?  I mean, I know they give it to the military...  But they're living in close quarters under stress.  College is a semi more plausible place to give it...  But the commercial is saying 11 and up...  Sleep head to foot!  I just think it's some pharm co trying to cash in personally.  But then again, I'm stupid... Speaking of Pharm reps...  Psych!!! What the hell happened to Little Shawn!?!  I mean, he's probably older now, but still it's not the same!  Lol at Lassie in the flashback though.  Hi-larious! I guess the major aspect of the ep was Shawn's parent.  Confused...  At first it seemed like he had a problem with his mother, her returning.  Then he's all like Mom and son bonding, which gets interrupted by Dad.  Then she's saying she left him, not the other way around...  Didn't he live with her???  First ep he sees the father for the first time in a long time???  Confuzzled! Then how was that a Psych Out when it's already a promo?  Let down! Seeing Mamma Mia tomorrow!  In my Batman shirt!  HAHAHA!!! Make me feel like dancin!

It's not me. Most of the new music on popular radio right now is absolutely ridiculous it is so bad. It is so awful, it makes me honestly angry. For the love of Christian Bale! [18 Jul 2008|11:31am] isabel79 [ mood | excited ] [ music | The Who.. ] I'm seeing The Dark Knight today.  :: crosses fingers ::  I told Mom about it last night.  She wants to come, but it conflicts with a wake she needs to go to...  Depending on when Tita Fely is going...  Pretty much every time, but the ones we missed conflicted.  Mom will just have to leave early.  We're going to the 4:40 showing, which is still matinee...  She's like you don't want to go this evening?  I don't want to play full prices...  Dad gave me money.  WHAT!?!  That will cover this, Mamma Mia! and The X Files.  HAHAHA!!! Anyway, to prep myself, I saw Christian Bale's Bio on Biography last night.  At first I disliked them starting with American Psycho and totally skipping over his earlier work.  Cause in my opinion, Empire of the Sun made him.  Showed to me how good of an actor he was.  He was freaking 12!  Seriously I love that movie, love the book, I want to name my kid freaking Jamie after him (not Bamber.)  I can never look at SPAM the same way again.  HAHAHA!!!  Anyway, after filming that he had to promote it...  Watching the portion of the interview they had was painful!  Awkward!  I'm surprised he didn't totally give up on acting after that.  But in the end I like what they did.  After talking about AP they went back to his beginnings.  EOTS, Newsies...  What!?!  Newsies wasn't initially a musical!?!  Are you serious?  I mean...  It's not my fave and I don't see the appeal the fan girls have for it, but what!?!  I wonder if I would have like it more as a serious drama.  But like I said, re High Fidelity, everything is better as a musical.  Lol.  And why is Little Woman the work they say made him popular, like with the girls?  Ask any fan it's Newsies.  The Batman section.  What did I first think about CB being Batman?  Not even sure if I wrote anything, but I could imagine I was upset, too high profile.  But now...  I can't see it any other way.  Even in the Bio one of the dirs he worked with was like he should have more fame than he does even after Batman.  I wonder why that is.  Not that I think he would want it.  But he's still relatively unknown even after Batman.  And with The Dark Knight, even before his death, everyone was saying it was Heath's movie...  Oh and...  I really couldn't tell if I was more giddy with Christian Bale or Christopher Nolan.  Seriously...  Hearts both of them.  It boggles my mind he squeezed in The Prestige between the 2 Batman films. Anyway...  I miss CB's accent.  Now it's like a weird Brit / NYC accent...  Ew... I should have had a CB marathon with all his work.  I mean, I even have Meo oh Mio (sp?) on tape! Saw Batman Begins for the 1st time, since the first time.  I remember liking it, but nothing more.  Remember wanting to add he destroyed an already destroyed Gotham on my webpage...  Anyway, slow me...  I liked it, in the sense it wasn't a typical summer block buster, action hero movie.  It was dark, less comic than the previous  I did like how they set up the next movie.  The Joker...  Can't wait!!! To end the Batman section.  Wow...  The term Gotham for NY predates Batman.  Interesting Yahoo Answers.  Washington Irving first used it and it was previously used for a place in England too. I got my Psych DVDs.  For some reason I decided to watch the commentary on "Light, Camera...  Homicidio"  :(  James Roday says he hasn't spoke Spanish since he was 4.  Downer...  I'm mad I missed the broadcast on Telemundo.  Wonder who did the voices. A Great New Gift Idea [17 Jul 2008|03:24pm] vera26 [ mood | working ] [ music | "Go Go Gadget Flow" by Lupe Fiasco ] I'm thinking of giving my parents something special for Christmas or their wedding anniversary. Quality Canvas Photos. Or something similar to that. Probably find an ancient photo of them together and have the company mount it on the canvas for me. Someone at my workplace showed us her canvas photo from the company and I thought the company did a pretty good job with her photo. I haven't been exactly giving my parents awesome gifts lately (then again, we don't really do the whole gift thing) but I suppose twenty three years of marriage warrants consideration from the kids. Either that or a cruise? Everyone at my work raves about going on cruises. It's a little early to be thinking of gift ideas, but just thought I throw it out there as a suggestion.
