Major need of a Dan!

Okay, so me and a bunch of guys from LJ have started up a new Gossip Girl RPG, It Had To Be You, and we're looking for one more person so we can start and then open the board, a Dan Humphrey. It's an intermediate RPG (no less than two paragraphs) and we're all really anxious to start, so if you're up for it please sign up! Don't sign up as 'Dan Humphrey' though, we're allowing competition so if you win the part we'll change your name. If you're not too sure, come on down, check out the plot and see if you're interested. Even if you don't get Dan, you can try out for any of the show-canons and site-canons once we've opened. The more the merrier! Thanks.

Good morning Upper East Siders! Gossip Girl here. Time to take out your shades and throw away those winter boots because the summer's here. And according to my watch, with the summer comes parties and I'm sure you know what that means. Ever since the recent Van Der Bass wedding, we haven't been seeing any activity happening in New York but worry not for I have some news for you.

Spotted: our very own Queen B arriving alone in her private jet looking as fabulous as ever. Whatever happened to her mystery man? Looks like B wasn't impressed by his gorgeous accent. Such a shame.

Rumor has it, B's planning to throw one of her famous soirees to celebrate her arrival back from Tuscany and sources have told me that C's not invited. And speaking of our infamous Bass, C was spotted with a blonde on his lap on the night of B's arrival. Having fun C? And here we thought you prefered brunettes. Well your fun won't last for long for the Queen B is back to get her revenge. You should know the best that B loves her revenge sweet.

N seems like he's taking the high life after he broke up with V. As if they'd get along. Brooklyn doesn't know who she's messing with. Did they get into a fight or was it because N still had feelings for his sweetheart B? Not that I care, I just want him to love me. Is that to much to ask?

So what has our dear Little J been up to ever since her downfall? It seems that she's been taking it easy on her vintage sewing machine. Sixteen going on sixty Little J? Sewing is your grandmother's hobby, not yours.

Ah yes, I'd love to forget but how can we miss this out? Our boring love-triangle between V, S and not-so Lonely Boy. Our boring perfect couple has finally got sick of each other but don't we all wish S and D would stop acting depressed and tortured? It works for Lonely Boy, but not you S.

S was last seen babbling about D with N. Get a life S, Brooklyn isn''t worth it and whatever happened to the toy boy policy you introduced us to? They did say, practice what you preach. Just kiss and make out already, although please leaving out the making out. Ugh.

Last but not least, I don't mean to burst your bubble but G's back in town. Look's like the summer has a lot more instore for us.

As for me, I'm putting on my favourite pair of miu miu sandles and heading down to the Hamptons. There's always room for more, why don't you come and join me?

I wrote two fics, thought maybe I should share.

Title: You're Inked in My Memory

Disclaimer: I do not own anything, except for the story
Author's Note: I was bored, and so I came up with this. Constructive criticism would be lovely.

In less than a month, Serena’s life had abruptly changed. Yes, for sure, Georgina was out of her life (thank God for that), but she still could not think back and blame Georgina for everything that had happened.

Dan was no longer hers, she had to face that, but why is it that every day, even now, it hurts? One moment, the two of them were sharing coffee wrapped up in blankets and making out and the next moment they were avoiding each other and no longer an item.

She misses it, she really does. Even when she tries to convince herself that it did not matter, that she was over him, she still finds herself regretting and hoping that it was all just a bad dream and she’d wake up in his arms, telling her, “It’s all right, sweetheart, I’m here.”

She misses the fact that people were jealous of what they have, calling them the disgusting perfect couple or the boring perfect couple. Dan would say that they just hated him, but Serena would smile and tell him that they did not hate him, they hated her. They both knew the truth, but it did not matter, because she, Serena Van Der Woodsen belonged to Daniel Jonah Humphrey and that was all that mattered.

She misses the times when she could call him and tell him the bad day that she had and upon hearing his voice, she would cheer up again, only because he can do it and no one else could.

She misses moments when he would call her and ask her over for dinner and he would prepare spaghetti and they would eat on a box covered with floral decorated cloth under the candlelight and despite how corny and cheesy that was, she’d still love it, only because he made an effort to, and because they were sharing a meal together.

She misses a lot of things, that’s no doubt. His smile, his laugh, his bad jokes and grumpy-old-man personality were all that she missed every day.

There were days, days when Eric and her decide to spend the Friday night indoors to watch a old movie and he wanted ice-cream, she’d walk down to the convenient store and pick out the Mint and Chocolate Chip one—despite knowing that Eric loved Rum and Raisin—because she knew that that was Dan’s favourite flavor of ice-cream. And other days when she decided she wanted to read a book and finds that Dan’s favorite author had published a new book. She finds herself frantically digging in her bag for her cell phone, dialing the numbers that came from memory, pressing the green button only to realise that he was no longer hers and then put down the phone, disappointed.

It was depressing, and sometimes she wanted to pull her hair out. She did not ‘cry herself to sleep’ because she found that all too cliché and stupid, and so she decided to do other things. She kept herself occupied. She studied with the music turned on, only to realise that the CD belonged to him. She’d pick up a book from her bedroom and flip through the pages, only to find that it was his favourite book that he urged her to read. Everywhere had ‘Dan’ printed on—even her favourite sweater was his, and it still smelt like him which made her want to cry.

No one said it was going to be easy, to let go of your first love, but sometimes Serena wondered, how was Dan doing?

It was not easy, to act like she was fine and to stop herself from crying when she heard their favourite song, but she tried and on some days, it was anything but easy.

He lay in bed and fingered the pages of his book while watching the ceiling fan spin round and round in circles. They were not talking, no one was—Rufus was giving him space, Jenny was still grumpy because of her internship with Eleanor Waldorf and Dan was just, well, he was getting over Serena. Period.

“Daniel Jonah Humphrey,” Jenny’s voice echoed through the loft as she entered his room, leaning against the blue frame.

“You don’t get to call me that, Jen,” his voice muffled in the pillow. Jenny sighed and sat at the corner of the bed, frowning.

“We need to talk; I can’t stand anymore of this I-am-getting-over-my-really-pretty-ex-girlfriend problem,” Jenny says.

Dan props himself up on the bed and says, “Well, I can’t stand all this I-want-to-grumble-about-my-internship-with-the-biggest-bitch-in-the-world.”

“Mother,” Jenny corrected. “Mother. Her mother.”

“Whatever,” Dan scowled and fell back on his bed.

Jenny leaned over and shook her grumpy brother. Dan raised his hand and tried to shoo her away, but she gripped onto his wrist. “What have you been doing?” he grumbled.

“I’ve been working out. You know, signing up for classes to keep myself occupied,” Jenny said, pleased. “So, Daniel, tell me what have you been up to. You were fine two days ago until you decided it was a nice warm day, went out, came back, and you’re like that again.”

Dan, annoyed, got out of bed and took hold of Cedric, throwing him into the ‘unwanted’ pile. “You want to know?” Jenny nodded, her face beaming with excitement. “Fine, I’ll tell you.”

“Mum, I’m going to get coffee and chips, do you want anything?” Serena called out while taking hold of the cold, metal door knob.

“Serena, are you sure you want to go out? It’s going to rain.”

“I’ll be quick, okay? Eric and you can watch a movie or something,” she said and walked out of the door.

The clouds were grey and the sun was barely visible but Serena knew she needed to get her head cleared before she can do any studying done and so she decided to go to the book store to get his favourite book and then head back home.

She pressed her palms on the glass door and pushed it opened with force. She was welcomed with the smell of fresh, printed pages and coffee. Okay, we’re going to do this quick, she thought, and went through the first shelf of books.

Ah, there it was in front of her, the book that she wanted, but it was out of her reach. She jumped, trying to take it when she heard a low, raspy voice behind her. “Here, let me help you,” it said and reached forward to grab the book and handed it to her. She spun around and opened her mouth to say thank you, when she saw who the owner of that strangely familiar voice was.

“Dan – I never, expected to – to see you,” she stuttered, eyes on the floor.

“Serena – please, hear me out. I’m sorry, I really am I didn’t mean to – ” he said reaching out to hold her, before deciding otherwise.

“No, Dan, don’t be. It’s not your fault,” she forced a smile and placed her hand on his.

Quickly, she held the book out to him. “Here, I wanted to buy it for you anyway.” He shook his head, but took it in his hand anyway.

“No, I knew you wanted to read it, although actually, I was going to buy Pride and Prejudice…” his gaze fell to the floor, and he shuffled his feet. Serena looked up to see the familiar face she longed to touch, and bit her lower lip to prevent herself from doing anything stupid.

“You remember,” she said quietly.

“Yes,” says Dan. Silence fell upon them, before Dan reached out and thrust the book back in Serena’s arms.

“Here, have it, you read this and I’ll read Mr. Darcy and we’ll call it a day,” he said, smiling. She smiled back before receiving the book in her arms.

“Okay,” she said and left Dan standing there on his own.

“You took the book and secretly placed the story, that story into the book? Genius Dan, I never knew you were capable of such gimmicks,” Jenny said and patted her big brother on the back. He looked up to her and shot her a grateful look, and mouthed a thank you to her.

“But I don’t know if she saw it or anything, and I’m still waiting and --”

There was a loud knocking on the door and the sibling looked at each other. Jenny titled her head towards the door of the room and mouthed ‘Go’ to her brother. He rolled his eyes at her and walked out, heart beating in his chest wishing it was really, really Serena.

Slowly, he placed his hand on the handle, gripped and opened.

“Hi.” Serena said, hair in a mess, eyes bloodshot, but looking as beautiful as ever. Dan remained silent, mouth slightly open, unable to form coherent words to say. She smiled.

“I read it again,” she said and placed her lips full on his and whispered, “I’ve missed you.”

He nodded, because he knew he did too.
