Need a change of scenery
So being that I'm crazy bored right now and I was planning on going out and reading and getting some coffee tomorrow.  I gotta ask all you DPer's out there...where's your favorite people watching/coffee/tea place  I usually head out to coffee time or tea chai te but I'm looking for a new place.

And....
wait for it....
GO!

I love to sit at the Ira Fountain (4th and Clay) you can dip your feet in, and often there are kids playing in it, which is super cute.

I really love:
1. Half and Half on SW Oak and 9th (great sandwiches, coffee, sparkling beverages, and soup. The people watching is great, and the people who work there are awesome).
2. Stumptown. The new one on 12th and Stark. Comfiest couches ever, great coffee, great people-watching, and great staff.

Coffee Time was fun back in the mid 90's when nobody went there and they had poetry readings on Monday nights. Now it's just.. sad, sad yuppie-metro-hipster hell.

Backspace or Stumptown are your best bets these days.

There are plenty of places on the east side....off top of my head, I love Palio and Stumptown on SE 34th and Belmont. I am also piqued by Muddy Waters just several blocks west on Belmont.

....and *drinks*! :)

Grab a friend and head up to the 30th floor of the US bank tower. Order some coffee and enjoy the view of PDX. It is a pretty high brow but a great view. The mexican mochas are particularly tasty.

I like Muddy Waters on Belmont for a coffee shop. Coffee House Portland on Trinity and Burnside for the best coffee. That pizza place across from the Bagdad Theater on Hawthorne for people watching. My personal favorite for all of the above is the Pharmacy Cafe, but the food, coffee, and neighborhood isn't the best. I'm not sure why I like it, really.
