Good chow in Tualatin?
Hey, many thanks for the excellent coffee shop suggestions last time I posted here. So far, I've tried Coffee Plant, Half-and-Half, and Coffee Crutch, and they've all been winners. Woohoo! :D

ANYHOO, A friend of mine from out-of-town will be in Tualatin this evening, so I'm meeting up with him for dinner. I'm hoping to find a good place to eat in Tualatin that isn't terribly expensive. His job takes him on the road a lot, which means he eats that Applebee's/Shari's/family chain restaurant junk all the time, so I'd really like to take him somewhere different this time!

Type of cuisine doesn't matter, just so long as it's fresh and tasty. Anyone?

Oh has it gotten bad? I used to live in South Metro years ago, and it was really good then. Sad.

I lived in the apartments on the lake roughly three years ago, and yeah, by that point, there were a couple incidences of cockroaches and...course black hair that didn't look like it came from someone's head.

do you mind if I ask what you paid for those apartments per month? I'm looking at various apts and that one was suggested to me.

Uh, the unit I was in was roughly $800. It was in the unsecured portion. To be in the security section, the prices ranged a bit. My father's (at the time, not quite yet) wife was paying $950 for her two bedroom unit in there. Those were old rates though, and the management company kept raising the rates (and could never hold down a manager for the complex, very disturbing).

haydens lakefront grill is yummy, and it has a very nice view of the "lake". It's right off Tualatin Sherwood rd.

Aloha Grill on Martinazzi off Tualatin/Sherwood Rd, across from Fred Meyer, has awesome food for a good price. It's got a more sandwich-shop sit down feel than a Shari's or Applebees (benches and chairs as opposed to booths), but the owners are friendly and the food is delicious.

I worked in Tualatin last year and I'm crazy about the Bush Garden there for sushi. Yum! I miss it a lot. The one downtown doesn't compare.

Hot Seat (always good) , Wichita's (good as well), Juan Colorado's (mmmm hmmm), Lake Garden Chinese (good in a to go fashion), Hayden's Grill (aka: the corporate cafe, yummy creme brule'!),There is a yummy Thai place next to the ciggarettes cheaper and Bank of the West in the same area as Kmart (good pad thai). Umm at bridgeport CPK (california pizza kitchen, so yummy!) Pastini (is the shit!) and MS Grill (good but overprices). I work out there so I have tasted the local cuisine if you want to call it that when we have to take our clients out. Yeah, it's slim pickens!

Tualatin sucks though. If I didn't have to work there I would avoid it all together...lol
