Dermatologists
Hey everyone--

Does anyone have any recommendations on good dermatologists in the area? I have a couple areas on my face that I would like looked at.

Insurance/ability to pay is not an issue, but please no "dermotologists to the stars." I would prefer to see someone in the SW (near Terwilliger) area [close to work] or NW/Forest Heights/Hillsboro area [close to home].

Thanks! Please include name, phone number, and why you think he/she is great.

Thank you for the recommendations! I've made an appointment with a provider.

...and the reason I really like this Dr

I get big owie cyst-like pimples..well I DID, but only like 2 or 3 of them, they never infested my whole face. I was listening to this Dr about my options and he asked if I had ever taken antibiotics for my acne and I said, no and then I explained to him that I personally do not like taking any internal medicine that is not necessary, especially antibiotics. Not only was he cool about it, he said "Know what, I respect your decision and I am the same way about taking internal medicine." He was sure to make me aware that the topical treatments I am on would not work as fast, which I am aware of, but I have been on the regimine about one month and my skin is pretty clear and TOTALLY free of those big ouchie, owies appearing. So, I give him mad points for listening to me and not being one of those Dr.'s that are all like...BUT I AM THE DR. YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO ME...so yeah, check him out, he rocks. =)

Dr. Bernard Gasch at St. Vincent's is pretty good from my experiences. And he's quite personable.

I saw Dr. Bert Tavelli at Good Sam for years (for acne) and I plan to go back and some point for a chemical peel.
