Does anyone know of any places that do non-insured low cost wisdom tooth removal??
(besides OHSU, I've been calling them for a week now, and they are always full)

this is an emergency, my face is swelling up and I need them pulled now!

please help!

thank you.

If it's an emergency, go to an emergency room. Hospitals (and dentists) are required by law to see you if it's an emergent situation.

If it is an emergency, then go to the ER at OHSU (or any other - though they might send you up here). They will be able to treat you and send you off to an oral surgeon on the hill.

They cannot refuse to treat you or push you to the bottom of the list if this is an emergent situation. There are laws in place to protect the un- and under-insured still get treatment in emergent situations. Use them!

I think I will try that tomorrow!
One of my wisdom teeth is right on a vital nerve in my mouth, and I need them removed asap, this isn't one of those situations where it's going to get better.. unless I actually take care of it this time.

but thank you for your help!

True story:

My grandfather called my uncle Bobby over to do that. Grandpa was a major alchoholic and my uncle was nervous. One bottle of souther comfort and three teeth later my uncle got the right one. Gott'a love southern dentistry aka "family practice".

Russell St dental clinic.
214 Ne Russell
503-494-6822

First come first serve basis, you show up at
7:45 am and get in line. monday - Saturday.
78.00 dollars per tooth extracted.

I'm just scared they're going to pull
teeth I need, so I"m waiting patiently for the
call back day for OHSU and they can give me an overview of what's wrong with my teeth and how much it will cost.

Russell street in an emergency only clinic for the
desperate.

A girl I know used to go to the multnomah county health dept, they do emergency stuff for $40 a procedure. I don't know the specifics, and it's only on certain days. BUT, you will probably have to get some antibiotics for the swelling and get rid of the infection before they will do anything.
Just call the health dept.
