im in portland.

i have a few suggestions
can anyone suggest some good places to go? and why they like it there?

Check the memories, 'cause there seems to be a tattoo question at least once a week. A lot of people recommend Atlas and Tigerlily. But it seems most places are really busy on the weenend. Lots of good places from what I've heard, though.

Also, I second [info]kr8vkat - check the memories. The tattoo question seems to be insanely common.

Raven Ink on SE 82nd... Tell Wade that Andee (Pat's mom) sent you. He did all of my son's ink, and he did a great job

I personally don't like people being stoned when they are doing something that will forever be on my body. He does do nice work but its a little scary.

I have never heard that about Wade, how odd. It was him you had do yours? Or the other person that works out of there?

Wade...i did an intership there when i was in high school (my intership was actually with Ocean a guy that used to do piercings there but spend a lot of time with Wade since Ocean was flaky). He gave me a lady bug on my foot and i took my mom there to get her first tattoo. He is a nice guy totally love him. I have no issue with stoners at all...but I know that he does work on people under the influence and it scares me slightly. He does great work and even better drawings while under the influence. He might of stopped now...this was four years ago.
