Marylhurst living situations
Damned Portlanders;
I am finding my living situation to be not very useful for going to school. Spending 4+ hours a day using Trimet's wondrous bus system is leaving me feeling cold about the whole thing. Does anyone have any information about places opening up in West Linn?
I am pursuing a photography degree at Marylhurst, which has somehow translated into me starting to collect painting and darkroom equipment that no longer really fits into my current living situation. I also have two adorable cats.


I'll be looking at moving around the 1st of the year. Any useful information will be rewarded with a bounty of pie and lavish praise.

I can't help on the moving thing... but I wanted to mention that your cats are gorgeous! Are those photographs that you've taken?

If so... do you do alot of pet photography and what are your rates?

If you can find anywhere on the 35 route, it will make it easy for you to get over to Marylhurst (just in case there aren't many rentals).... If you end up looking around West Linn, stay near to highway 43- you wouldn't want to find a rental up on the hill because as far as I know they cut the bus service up there and walking up and down it in the winter doesn't seem like a party.

My boyfriend works downtown, and it takes him 45 minutes to get home (we're about a mile south of Maryl)- so it would be a doable situation if you found a place downtown also.... same goes for Oregon City if you could stomach it.

And I have noticed that there are several complexes in Lake Oswego that they attempted to turn into condos, but didn't sell all of them, and now I see a ton of "for rent" signs up.

I will keep my eyes open :)

I have been catching the 35 by the Adidas campus up on the hill, but the ride is long and the company tight-lipped.

The culture of the place is less important to me. I live right off Alberta and have never been to Last Thursday (which is terrible, I know).

I have been seeing the signs around but they floated through my brain without pause. Thanks for the idea!

let me know if you get any leads! i go to marylhurst too and the buses are way lame out there--the 35 comes once an hour after 6pm! RIDICULOUS.

I'm trying to spend less than 700 a month, but it is looking more and more like I will be finding a roommate. Allergic to cats?

not at all! right now i pay 500 for a tiny studio so if it's 500 and under for my portion, i'm open to it.

i looked at a lot of places near marylhurst and they're kind of ridiculous.

I haven't ventured far from Marylhurst, but it seems like the area is pretty beautiful up around the hills.
