blackened chicken sandwiches in this city!
ruled out: (miss) delta, montage, fire on the mountain, screendoor, clay's. we have been looking for WEEKS to no avail. please advise. or blackened chicken in general! the stuff at montage is JUST NOT REALLY BLACKENED.

Montage is crap.

Best bet: go to Saturday Market. Find the Cajun/Creole seasonings guy. Get some seasonings, recipes and tips from him and make your own.

I don't like it, either. I live near it, which makes it handy to meet up with people, but I'd rather not go there.

LOL. Yeah. First (and only) time I went there everyone was so enthusiastic. But it was incredibly noise and crowded and the food was terribly bland. Guess if you're already drunk it doesn't matter, though.

I've gone a few times... because I've been told how wonderful it is. The first time I went, my friend and I both got really sick from the food. This was a couple of years ago, but we still joke about how lucky we were to have been in a house with two bathrooms.

The second time we went it was pretty dead and my friend ordered an oyster shooter and it was completely frozen... after the waiter had assured him that it was a fresh oyster. o.O

The other two times just weren't good enough to make up for the rest of it. I'll ditch my friends to not go there now.

Agreed. Totally overrated food and their service is about the worst in the city.

'blackened' means that a special blend of seasonings has been crusted on the outside, making the meat/seafood/etc appear black. It is delicious!
