found a phone!
last night some time after midnight i found a moto razr in the street between tugboat brewing and mary's club. it was raining really hard so i made sure to pick it up and dry it off. i took it home and went through the phone book to try to figure out who to call to find the owner (i decided on the "mom" entry) but didn't want to call then because it was pretty late.

so i woke up this morning and the phone is dead, i assume because of the battery since it totally worked last night (hopefully it is not delayed water damage). so my question is, what is the best way to get this phone back to the owner? it's a verizon phone, should i go to a verizon store? are they the best people to get it back to the owner? i guess i could also post something on craigslist, but would that just be pointless?

if the phone has a SIM card in it, you could pop the SIM card in another phone and access the numbers. Or just go to a verizon store and ask them if you could plug the phone in while you call some of the numbers stored in the phone.

Verizon doesn't use SIM cards.

If the phone has an IMEI number (usually behind the battery around where you'd pop out the SIM card) you can call Verizon and tell them youfound a lost phone and they can use that to reference them.

Razrs just use mini-usb cords to charge. If you have one for your computer then you might be able to charge it using your computer. You might need to just download some software to do it.

You can't charge off the USB. I don't think the phone can regulate voltage the way an I pod does

that's strange since that's what I used to do when I had a razr....

it'll work, you just need to download something.

Yeah I also find that strange since I did it many times myself with my old razr.

Call a Verizon store and ask them what to do.

A friend of mine had a lost phone returned to her by Verizon where someone had dropped the phone off after finding it, so that seems like it would be a good bet.
