First person who can tell me the area of the RiverView Cemetery in SW Portland where this tombstone is located gets a special place in my heart

I thought it would be worth a shot to ask around here.

and here's a map of the cemetery

Mrs. Bateman sure was pissed when the stonecutters delivered her husband's tombstone...

it's real
I've seen multiple photos of it
and heard stories about it. The cross country team from my college used to run through the cemetery and they'd see it all the time

Uhm, yeah, this is real. I totally have photos of both the "Batman" grave and the "Starkweather" grave because I TOTALLY want my last name to be Starkweather. Instead of Cox. (ugh.)

I don't remember where exactly it was, though. I'm sorry. It was like 4 years ago!

Jesus Christ, this has literally been plaguing me for the past hour. I've done so many searches ...

Unbelievable that this is so hard to find. I, yes literally, called the cemetery and asked them about this headstone. I got a very rude woman who was either having a bad day or was tired of answering the question - she wouldn't tell me. All she said is that it exists and if I want to see it, come find it.

Sooo ... I give up. Extremely impressive, though. Literally an hour searching for information on this damn thing.

Yeah, I did about that much earlier today. There's nothing online. :\ I'd sooner call and ask about the headstone next to it, or better yet, ask someone to show you where it is.

My mom took me to see that one when I was a kid, and then I was all confused when I was in Eugene and saw Sam Elliott walking around.

Figured it all out eventually...

One of my best friends has been all over the world, and photographs famous/weird headstones wherever he goes. We were in Seattle and he overheard someone asking about Bruce Lee's grave, and he gave them the detailed lowdown on how to find it.

So, what I'm trying to say is, I'm emailing him to see if he knows about Batman, and if not, if he's got any ideas about how to track the Caped Crusader down.

Based on the three pieces of evidence I would say that you should go down the paths from the mausoleum with in zones 8, 9, and 100. It shouldn't be too far from the North End. Look for the purplish-reddish tree. If you go down the path just east of zone 9 the grave would be to your left. If you go down the path west of zone 8 it will be on your right. Looks like it would be about 250-300 feet according to google maps. If I knew how to post pictures I would show you my awesome MSPaint sketch of where it is.
