Not going away.
What is your least favorite city in Oregon, and what makes it so?

Oregon City. All the tweakers. I know in Beaverton I can spit and hit a tweaker, but there is something so much worse about the Oregon City variety to me. I just hate Oregon City.

Oi.

Oregon City's not as full of tweakers as Gresham is.
Besides, it's far more beautiful.

Actually, I agree. Last time I went out there it took 2 and a half hours by bus, and sucked. I also lost my mom's ring that she got as a teen while up there.

Ontario because the most exciting thing I remember when I was there was a strip mall. (Granted, this was ten years ago, but it's a small town in the middle of nowhere so I doubt much has changed.)

Newberg. We lived there for 10 years, and the place just sucked my soul away. It's hard to describe why, even. I used to cry when we'd come back from family visits, and ask my parents if we could just go back home instead (which meant the southern Oregon countryside).

I just remember it as this very gray and depressing place, with very little joy in the town itself. Very stratified, socially. Edit: At first I said I was the "poor" one, but really that was only in relation to 1 friend, and all her friends. I did actually have some other friends who weren't snobby, but you know how the negative stuff can stick out more? If it wasn't for those few friends, I totally would have went ballistic. I don't know... I'm sure a lot of it was just family stuff, too, but the only place I ever truly liked was the library. I don't even get all cheerily nostalgic when I go through, just sort of grumpy and annoyed that it still exists.

Creswell.

Everyone I met was mean and gave me dirty looks, even the old lady at the Dari mart. My bf took me to a party with his friends and they stole my beer and wouldn't talk to me. He was no catch either by a long shot. Oh, the errors of youth.

But yeah, the culture is terrible, strangers gave us blatantly wrong directions. I have been camping out there with friends a few times and it has either rained all weekend or I got poison oak, or the time I was tricked into working clearing land all week and when it came down to it, I had to write a paper and couldn't play. The earth and sky themselves conspire against me.

My brother once got a ticket there too.

Hate! Hate for Creswell!

Oregon City - agreed. The 33 line is the most depressing thing in the world. Gray city, very windy, I always feel like I need a shower after visiting.

Beaverton is not as bad as Oregon City, and at least it has a max line and some places to hang out.

Seaside.

Man, all that beautiful coastline, and this little place has to sell cotton candy every 20 yards? Feels like I'm in some sort of holiday camp. Bleh.

SE Portland, especially near Clackamas. Fuckin' drunken elderly roadragers, and the only place I've been to where some asshole would yell at a disabled man hobbling on a red and white cane for taking so long in a crosswalk. Also, cars magically flip over on SE 82nd.

Stayton, the small town I grew up in. We used to call it Satan. So for all your complaints about tweakers or Nike or overrated neighborhoods, it doesn't compare to a town that puts Peyton Place to shame. It doesn't even have a strip mall!

Three way tie with Medford, Grants Pass, and White City. Just the most boring, blah, overly populated with conservative-republican-hypocrites ever. Most of Southern Oregon is a hole. The exceptions being Ashland and Jacksonville. At least those places are pretty to look at if not at least slightly enjoyable.
