Rice milk loves you
I LOVE rice milk lattes. I definitely prefer them over lattes involving soy or regular milk, but it seems that most shops just offer soy milk as the non-dairy alternative.

I know that Albina Press offers rice milk... but what other shops have it? Bonus points if it's downtown or in the 5th quadrant.

I've only tried Rice Dream, I think, in a latte. I was not impressed. Is there another brand you prefer? I don't want to miss out!

I have no idea what brand they use at Albina Press... I'll have to ask! But hey, rice milk also just might not be your thing, so who knows?

There are a very few, very very few things I cannot stomach, but maybe you're right. :-)

the new red & black at 12th & oak has been taken over by the vegan mafia and they offer rice and soy milk for espresso drinks.

i don't really get rice milk. it tastes like weird, kinda sour water to me. i still like it, but i like soy milk gobbbbsssss more. it has more body, fullness, and it has a somewhat similar effect on my coffee as cow milk, which is nice, if that's what you're going for.

oh, and i'm not being argumentative or snarky. i'm just airing my milk preference laundry. i'll even be helpful! i bet veganopolis has rice milk lattes, and i bet proper eats will go out of their way to hook you up. they're really sweet.

I had a rice milk latte from Veganopolis that made me want to die. But the guy said he'd never made a latte before so it could have been that...

ooh i didn't know they had almond milk! i think rice milk blowz because my favorite part of the latte is the foam and it's almost impossible to get foam from rice milk, but almond milk is pretty tasty and it seems like it'd have enough fat in it to foam up nice. thanks for the heads up!

Enjoy! My favorite treat as of late is making Trader Joe's Sipping Chocolate using vanilla almond milk. Yum yum yum!

mmm. maybe i'll pick some of that up, too. i have an espresso machine that is totally useless for making coffee but totally awesome for foaming milk.

almond milk lattes can be mediocre depending on the almond milk used. something about the nuttiness seems to somewhat stifle the sweetness of the espresso, so those lower in sugar, unfortunately, tend to not be as good. this is in comparison to your average soy or regular milk with an avg. of 8-12g of sugar per 8oz.

An almond milk latte sounds like it would be really good.

Backspace offered me rice milk the last time they ran out of soy... so I'm assuming they have it all the time. They do have that darn mostly-vegan (yummy) menu so it seems to fit that sort of "thing". You know.

Oh, and I do like soy better but rice milk wasn't too bad (although non-foamy).
