The Berlin Inn ("Portland's freshest taste of Germany" - www.berlininn.com) is holding a recipe contest. 

YOUR RECIPE DOES NOT HAVE TO BE GERMAN - in fact, non-German recipes are preferred, though they won't turn away your recipe just because it is German - that would be discrimination, and discrimination is bad, mmkay? 

Your recipe DOES need to be an entree, not an appetizer or dessert. 
It DOES need to be your recipe, or even your family or friend's recipe as long as you have their okay - not James Beard's recipe or Julia Child's recipe or Emeril's recipe...

Recipes can be emailed to (dawn@berlininn.com) or regular mailed/dropped off at the restaurant, which is at 3131 SE 12th (just south of Powell, yes just a block from the Aladdin) Portland 97202.
Recipe entries need to include your name and contact information (phone/email - do you really want them to snail-mail you news that you won?).  They also need to include the complete ingredient list and all pertinent directions (duh) as well as what you call the recipe, unless you don't mind if the make up their own name for it.  Photos (of your recipe-dish prepared) are appreciated but NOT necessary.
Recipes have to be received by Tuesday, February 19th, 8:00pm.
Several winners will be chosen and the dishes will be served as the daily special.  
Winners receive a gift certificate good for dinner for two.
