hey someone with a car/ q re: advantis fusion checking
1) I just bought the most beautiful desk and I need to transport it 7 blocks to my house but I don't want to pay the store $20 to have it moved. Someone want to lend me your car and do it with me? I will buy you lunch! Or a lot of Saint Cupcake!

2) Advantis credit union - flyering my house w/ offers of a checking account with unheard of 6.25% APY and ATM fee refunds. Guys. IS THERE A CATCH?!

1) hawthorne & 39th
2) you have to meet the following requirements monthly:
* Use your check card 12 times or more.
* Have one of the following occur monthly on your account: direct deposit, ACH deposit/withdrawal, automatic bill payment.
* Receive your statements electronically.
* Log in to online banking at least once per month.
if you don't meet the requirements I guess your APY goes down to 0.10%. they are NCUA insured...

(1) Well, blast ... my errands this weekend are not even close to your hood.

(2) My dad is on a similar thing with his bank, with a bunch of e-banking hoops to jump through in order to get some perk, so I think it might be legit.

I'll do it! For lunch, that is. (Tacos? where do you eat?) I'll be in your neighborhood getting a haircut in a bit. Besides, I have to see this amazing desk!

Do you think it would fit in my car?

I left my cell phone at work though, so you will have to catch me on lj. I'll be home for a little bit before I have to go out and do errands. But then I'll be back before I have to work anyways. (I work at 6pm)

They do, but because of the comment below, I think you should find someone with a truck. I wouldn't want to scratch your beautiful expensive desk!

And don't worry about it. I left my phone at work and would have never gotten the call anyways.

Some things are worth paying for.

If you try to put a fully built desk in a car you'll break something or scratch the top.

It's not that I don't have faith in you, it's that I don't have it in myself

Yeah, $20 to get someone with experience, the right equipment, and insurance seems like the smart move.

I mean, I guess if they fuck up, the owner might be nice and give me some money back, but she didn't make any mention of that when I was buying the piece. The pieces are all sold as-is, and it's an open pickup truck. I think paying someone $20 to move a desk (that fits inside a 3ft cube, and doesn't weigh much) IN AN UNCOVERED PICKUP TRUCK is kind of stupid. The owner actually suggested that it might be able to fit in the back of a hatchback. I mean, unless someone is going to ride in the back of the pickup and hold the desk, I'd actually feel a lot better putting it in the back of someone's van and riding with it myself.

Normally, if a furniture store provides delivery, the delivery people are bonded and insured. That means that if they damage the furniture (or your home), it is covered by their insurance. Has nothing to do with them deciding to be "nice".

I'm free/bored this afternoon, live nearby, and have a Subaru that's used to doing work but hasn't gotten the chance lately. If you haven't found someone yet feel free to drop me an email at adamsb(at)gmail(dotcom) with where, when, and how to find you.

Unfortunately if you don't want to move it today I'm busy this weekend, but I wish you luck anyway.

1) I might have time saturday and I have a Forester. Is it something that would fit in there? Access to a Jeep Grand Cherokee too.
2) Rivermark CU (26th/Hawthorn) is offering something similar, though I think their interest rate was higher (like 8 something) but maybe I'm misremembering. Similar deal - minimum 12 debit card transactions a month, estatements not paper statements, have to log in at least once a month. I don't think they require direct deposit or billpay, but I think they offer free billpay. Credit unions usually have better rates than banks. I think it's legit.
