Turtles for Terry, Part 2
One person showed up two weeks ago, and together we've now topped more than 100 turtles. Just imagine if more people came! Come fold turtles and help keep us from going crazy. I think we ran out of things to talk about with just two of us.
ALSO: I now have printed instructions for the turtle but I need to get them online (and blow them up, but I digress). Those interested in this thing, do any of you have a scanner you could bring on Saturday (if portable) or take the instructions with you from then (if not)? It would be the easiest time to handle it.
--
I'm going to send Terry Pratchett a thousand origami turtles, I figure I owe him at least one smile for the ones he's given me. It would be selfish and time-consuming to not let others get in on the action, so here's your chance! Saturday afternoon I'm opening my apartment to anyone who wants to come help. I'll have paper and some sodas, all you need is a pair of hands.
When?
Saturday February 2, about 1-5 PM. If it goes well I still plan to host another every two weeks until we're done.
Where?
In SE Portland, just north of Reed College. If that works for you, e-mail me at "adamsb at gmail dot com" for the specific address. Please have the email title be "Origami" so I can notice them easily.
Who?
Whoever! I've learned the turtle shown in http://www.metacafe.com/watch/705522/or igami_turtle/ (no print instructions, sorry!) and am willing to teach it. You don't need to be an origami expert. It's not LJ-specific, so feel free to invite friends.
Anything Else?
I'll have a sheet for people's names, email, and number of turtles folded. That's just so I can give credit, reach you guys about any response I get, and keep count! I may as well mention that here so I'm not explaining it to every person who walks through the door.
In response to previous questions, snacks are welcome, but by no means obligatory. My only request is fairly tidy stuff, not a cake or anything.
