Identify the leftovers...
A nice couple left a couple boxes of leftovers in my bar tonight.  I gave them a smell, and they smelled great.
Being short on money like I am, I took em home with me, and I'm eating them right now.
The thing is, this one is really good, and now I'm curious where the heck they got it from.

I thought I'd see if anyone had any ideas.
The leftovers are in Brown to go boxes, which seemed a like something I hadn't seen before.
One had what looked and tasted like roast chicken in it, but had nothing accompanying.
The other had a beef stew, like a pot roast stew, with balls of gnocci and a small amount of melted cheese, and tastes amazing.

Tugboat Brewing, where I bartend, is on the corner of Southwest Broadway and Ankeny, right around the corner from Mary's.
It's clear the couple were on foot, and walked to the Tugboat from their restaurant (judging by the warmth of the food).
I was wracking my brain to figure out where it might be from...maybe Kells, or Voleur?

Any ideas?  Anyone seen any menus which might include these items in that area?

Well, if it caught your attention that strongly - please post when you find out where it came from. I am a fool for gnocci...

be a long-ish walk, but sounds like a Mother's Bistro meal, to me.

If you don't get any help here, I'd try calling those two places and ask whether they have those things. FWIW the food at Voleur is very good and it's worth checking the place out. (I've never eaten at Kell's, or I'd give you an opinion on that as well.)

Kells is wonderful. Especially their hot gorgonzolla dip....serious food porn.

I think Mama Mia is owned by the same people who own Mother's, which, noted above, has white take-out boxes.

I've had a brown takeout box from somewhere in that area, but damn if I can remember where. Grumble.

Well, this wasn't just Gnocci. It was gnocci mixed into a beef stew.
In fact, the gnocci was a relatively small portion of the dish.
That being said, based on the portion that was left, the original quantity must have been immense.

Do they serve any substantial food there? I always imagine it's like fingerfoods and little quiches or something.

Oh yeah! They have a bar side with the DJ, and a fancy restaurant side (like $15-$25 entrees. I have a $10 off coupon, we should go over there on a Monday night sometime.

They are supposed to be an Asian Fusion type restaurant. I have never gotten anything to go, so I don't know what the boxes look like.

Hmmmm, this was not asian leftovers. They don't do a lot of pot roast and roast chicken, with or without gnocci.

My money is on 'Paddys.' It's another Irish pub towards the river. They have wonderful food and if I remember correctly; brown take out boxes.
