although we appreciate the fact that dialysis is keeping us alive, some of us just can't
help but say, "ugh, time for another damned dialysis treatment again"..

i was 12 when my kidneys suddenly (and randomly) failed. i had a cadaveric transplant at 15, which lasted me thru highschool and one semester of college, and then that too failed. i'm now 24, back on hemo-dialysis and have been receiving treatments thru a perma-cath for the past 2 years. (yes! it can be done, but its not easy and NOT recommended by doctors). i'm able to have a sense of humor about everything, which definitely helped me along the way. |
