Nightshift 31: Doctor Stegman's Office (Doctor's Office # 4)
[coming from here]

A quick look at the books in the room revealed to Zoro that it was, indeed, a doctor's office. Living in close quarters with Chopper and his books (and, more-or-less being on the receiving end of the treatments found in them), Zoro found that medical jargon sounded the same no matter where you were. And even if they weren't using their fancy words, doctors did all tend to sound alike anyway: don't stab yourself in the gut this, don't lose five liters of blood that. Feh.

But speaking of doctors... he noticed that Mousse was still injured. The boy probably healed slow or something.

"Hey, that from that first night?" Zoro indicated to Mousse's arm with a tilt of his chin.

Mousse glanced at his injured arm and looked less than thrilled. "Yes, it is. It's getting better, though!" To prove the point, the Amazon wiggled a few fingers. "I couldn't move them before, much less feel them. It'll only be a matter of time before I'm good as new."

'And ready to win Shampoo's love again," he added in his mind. When he was better, he told himself, he'd have the wisdom and experience that came from an injury and have that much more of a chance against Ranma.

Again, the room was a bit nicer than he was used to seeing. Zoro hadn't ever really answered his question before, so he tried it again. "What is this room?"

A few fingers weren't all that impressive to Zoro but he nodded in understanding anyway. It was a good day when Chopper stopped hovering over the swordsman long enough to let him get some training done after a hard fight.

When Mousse placed his question again, Zoro had a better answer this time. "A doctor's office, I think." He replied, staring at the degrees and wondering if they were bounty posters or awards. There was some pretty official writing on them so probably an award of some sort...

But there was still nothing in the room and Zoro shrugged at Mousse. "Nothing here, though."

A doctor's office? Oh, that was right-- they were here under the pretense that they were all unwell. Perhaps the 'doctors' had papers on their supposed ailments. Mousse was somewhat curious what his was meant to be. Could he just help himself to the desk and everything else around the room, though? It wasn't as if it had been in a common area and the doctors had never done anything against him personally...

He scratched the back of his head. He didn't want to resort to stealing, but at the same time, it seemed to be the straightest path of action. "So," He coughed, hoping Zoro would take the lead, "I guess that means there's nothing we need to do here?"

"Unless there's something you need," Zoro shrugged, pulling out a book and flipping through it just to see. Words. He could work with them if he felt like it or if there was any need to do so but he usually left it up to the other Straw Hats to make proper use of the damn things.

Mousse looked a little awkward, like he wanted to ask something, but Zoro couldn't be sure what for. He gave an internal "eh". The boy would come out of it if he wanted to.

"...I don't need anything."

It was true that he didn't really NEED anything. He might have wanted to see if there was anything extra he could used to arm himself, but he had noticed that despite his usual skill in hiding items, they were somewhat more obvious here. He still needed to get to the bottom of that.

"I guess we should try another door," he stated and headed back towards the hall.
