Nightshift 31: M51-60 hallway
Dinner was a bland and irritating affair as usual, which was made worse by the presence of a roommate. Such discomfort was a strikingly different reaction than how he felt rooming with Akatsuki at Cross Academy, but that was an entirely separate thing: for one, they were comfortable with each other (family), had no pretences over what they were (bloodsuckers), and had plenty of space (satisfactory accommodations for two young aristocrats). Now Aidou had to be semi-careful around another human, making sure to keep a wary eye on his horde of items, sealing things up securely so no prying hands could get to them, and making doubly sure the kid didn’t get a look at his uniform.

Nor a look at Aidou changing into it, for that matter. Gross. And to think the kid had enough nerve to just post Aidou’s room number on the bulletin board, for “home deliveries“ too, of all things. Couldn’t be helped; the vampire had had to rip that note down and happily tear it up. What an idiot.

Once the doors unlocked and his roommate took off, Aidou immediately changed and stepped out. With no jacket on, Aidou was half in black and half in white, as he wasn’t stupid enough to wear the whole outfit; the black undershirt with the white pants was all. Shutting M52’s door behind him, he put the usual blockade in place by sealing the door shut with ice. (His "roommate" had better not expect to make any return trips.) As if having to dress down wasn‘t bad enough, Aidou couldn’t even continue to investigate the major issues weighing on him this night, or whatever the hell Landel was babbling about this time. No, tonight he was going to be spending his time in prep for other things, which sucked.

And after all of that? Well, the vampire could only hope he would have time to do other things.

Dinner shift had been pretty silent, which was a welcome change from the nagging maggots he had to deal with throughout this day. After finishing his dinner, the Elicoorian had only sat around waiting for the door to unlock. After grabbing his knife and flashlight, he quickly headed out of his room.

A quick glance around the room showed the hallway to be empty. Guess he was early tonight.

Dinner had been nice enough, even if it had been odd to eat it without chopsticks. The food was decent (better than he was used to getting from Kaoru, at least!), and the tea had been a welcome treat.

Now that the horrible wailing from the building had stopped and the doors had unlocked, though, it was time for business. The rurouni grabbed the sheath from where he'd stowed it under his mattress and headed out.

He would get his sword tonight. He had to.

Well well, it was time for some action at last! Xigbar grabbed his pokeball and stripped off his shirt, grinning as he strolled down the hall and towards the exit. He was going to get a weapon, he was gonna get a weapon~! Oh, it was about time~!

((Merrily skipping off to here. ))

Shadow sat alone in his room debating if he should head outside. Today had not turned out the way he wanted. His arm was still in pain though it was considerably better then last night. But his arm wasn't what had him in a bad mood. He was still kicking himself for putting Reid in a bad situation with Tyler. What was he thinking? He didn't normally go around and accuse people of being in love with their best friends. What made him think that's what was going on?

With a sigh, he realized sitting around and moping wasn't going to help his mood. Perhaps he should find Valyn. Shadow always felt better when his cousin was around. He stood up and walked over to the door, hoping that he wouldn't be hit with another attack by Cats. He didn't think he could spare the limbs.

"Damn you, Martin Landel," Edgeworth said as he took a couple of the scalpels from his desk drawer and carefully put them into his overcoat's pocket. That girl on the radio had better be doubly careful, he thought, picking up his flashlight and stepping outside. If she wasn't, well...it was better that he didn't think of what could happen.

He cursed again the moment he was outside the room - the least he could have done was gotten a description of the people he would be working with that night. Armand's words floated through his head - who to trust, and who not to - and that left him feeling more nervous about the night than he was already.

Pushing the nerves and the voice that came with them aside, he turned on the flashlight and moved quickly through the hallway and out.

Kurikara found himself extremely restless waiting for nightshift to come. He kept moodily to his side of the room, pouring over his map with his back to his roommate. He'd torn the pillow case into strips to wrap his hands and reinforce the bandages from last night's battle in case he ran into trouble on the way. That arm was mostly useless. If he tried to do much of anything with it he tore the stitches open again.

As soon as the doors unlocked he was out. He knew he had a long way to go. He wanted to be out of his room before Hiei got it into his head to follow him.

Kurikara shook his head and broke off at a run.

Dinner had been quiet, which wasn't unusual, and Kurikara had run our rather quickly. Sai took a moment to grab the necessary items, his trowels and flashlight, as well as change into his more comfortable ninja attire. After the announcement on the intercom, he thought of actually grabbing his radio for once... and then couldn't find it. No matter. His roommate may have borrowed it. He hadn't done the best of jobs keeping track of it to begin with.

Soon enough he was out the door, following the usual path he now didn't even need his flashlight for.

Jack enjoyed his dinner as usual. He was quite pleased; he had a date for tonight, and after he and Kenren had their fun, he'd get to have some crazy buddy adventures with Gin, which was always good for a laugh.

In his usual good mood, he headed out.

It didn't take Allen long to gather his things. He had the map(he'd let Rinali read it, for he'd never been very good with such things)and his portable torch. The fewer things he had to carry, the better. His arm was his weapon, though he was starting to wonder if perhaps that wasn't enough.

He gave it only a moment's thought before hurrying out the door.

Kaito hadn't missed that one of the notes he'd left on the bulletin had been torn down before dinner. The only person he could think that would have done it was, possibly, his roommate: the other replies to the 'delivery man' were still up, and Hattori and Okita both had responses up, so the culprit was unlikely to be anyone from the History Club. Which left the only other person who might be concerned about room M52: Aidou.

He'd chosen not to talk about it during dinner. In fact, he'd chosen not to talk about anything at dinner, preferring to focus on tonight's upcoming training. If Aidou was worried about thieves, Kaito couldn't figure about a good way to tell him not to worry that didn't include the phrase "as something of a professional thief..." He didn't mind talking to people about what he did, but Kid's business was completely out of the question when there were detectives about. And if Aidou just didn't want a visitor or had plans for the room that night... Well, so be it. He was still curious about what the man on the bulletin was up to, but he'd just ask Hattori or Okita in the morning.

When the doors unlocked after the unexpected alarm and less unexpected intercom announcement, Kaito stuffed his flashlight and pillowcase-wrapped syringes into his coat pocket, grabbed the wooden dowel, and took off into the hall, heading to join Hattori and Okita.

Mozenrath was annoyed.

Actually, that was a bit of an understatement. The wizard was furious. Not only had he been made a fool by that woman (what was her problem!? It was as if she was stalking him!) at breakfast, but the damned staff had taken it upon themselves to punish HIM.

Yes, that was going to endear him to his new home, wasn't it? To make matters worse, he STILL hadn't the slightest idea where his gauntlet was, but oh, he would find it and then he would should everyone what he was capable of when in the right mood.

First things first, he had to find Nakago. With a sneer, the sorcerer headed out.
