Anyone know where to get your computer fixed up that won't charge a ton and actually does a decent job? My laptop's plug in for my adapter is loose and won't charge and I really really really need it to be back up and functioning properly. Thanks!

The hubby needs to see an eye doctor so that he could pick up new contacts. And no, we don't have insurance.

So...

1. Does anyone know anyone with reasonable prices that he could do an eye exam and that could fill out a prescription?

2. Where could he pick up cheap, but decent contacts?

Anyone know of any places that are hiring? My fiance has been putting in applications everywhere, we're looking for something in a category like: customer service, administrative (clerical/clerk/secretary/gopher/mail room), general labor/entry-level outside work, cleaning/laundry, food service/dishwashing/barista, apprentice positions, etc. really anything would be fabulous! We're both searching around online everywhere, but if anyone here has any ideas I would really appreciate them!

Christmas Lights!

Pretty soon there will be a ton of great Christmas lights to look at. Where are your favorite festive places to go in the Corvallis area?

The only places I can think of are:

The Pepsi bottling plant off 99 and Walnut - lots of funny hokey Christmas/Looney Tunes/Disney themed decorations around the building. (If you've never been, go north from downtown on 99, turn right on Walnut, take the first left, and turn left again into the driveway on the south side of the main building.)

The house on the west side of Peoria Rd a mile or two south of Highway 34.

Random houses on Timberhill and off... 29th I think, just south of Walnut, the same road that the Timberhill Tennis Club is on. There's a house or two on 29th that are pretty nicely decked out, with Santa in a vintage truck.

Also, I hear that the tree in front of the courthouse is lit up already, even though the Christmas parade hasn't happened yet. They rescheduled it to December 2nd because of the Civil War game. (Go Beavs!)

Corvallis Repertory Singers Concert!

This Saturday, the 14th of October, the Corvallis Repertory Singers
will be performing Rachmaninov's All-Night Vigil (the vespers) at
7:30pm. It will be sung entirely in old church Slavonic. Tickets
are $15 ($4 for students I believe, and if you're a student and a member of a choir you can get in free!), and you can get a price break if you buy season tickets,
which include four concerts. Details are here.

I can sell you tickets before the concert, and they're also available
at the door.

Some fuckass stole my goddamn bicycle seat and saddlebag last night. Inside the saddlebag was a spare tube and my Park multitool.

I know it's too much to hope I'll ever get them back, but if anyone sees a Kona bike seat attached to a post (with electrical tape on it), and saddlebag just laying around somewhere, let me know.
