Hi, has anyone heard about Robert Downy (spelling?) Jr. playing Holmes? If so what do you think about it?
Hi! Thought I'd join up and say hello. My name is Becky and I used to be a member of Russ-L until I dropped out after repeated e-mail changes. At the time my nom de post was "a young Tiggy" though I imagine it's been recycled by now. Anyway, I just did the re-read and enjoyed myself immensely, so I thought I'd get back in the game, especially since LJ is such a convenient forum. Nice to meet you all!
... Just checked my dates, and I won't be able to catch LRK @ Paddington Library this Thursday. Small matter of a trip to Barcelona. (Dang!)
Could anyone going please post up an account on Paddington, or any other talk? I would be MOST GRATEFUL :)
I'm trying to find a fic I read recently. Mary Russell goes undercover acting as a secretary to a bluff older man, the son makes advances. At one point Mary is taken to a home which is acting as a sort of club. Lord Peter Whimsy is also present and covers for Mary at one point.
ETA: blushes that I mixed up fanfic with LRK's great book, Letter of Mary. But to be fair, it's unusual for Lord Peter to be written outside of D.L.Sayers corpus.
Hi (delete repeated word). I really love this series. I think I got into it when I was really small and I was around while my mom listened to them. I just think they're really intelligent, entertaining books.

Hello, I am very new to this series. In fact, I've only read 'The Beekeeper's Apprentice' so far and I am absolutely hooked.
I actually had to do some detective work of my own to get a hold of this series. I'll let you know about it only because I think it's amusing. Feel free to ignore it if you wish and just see this as a hello to the community.

Yes, this is shameless promotion. My friend Lyndsay Faye has written a book. Not only has she written it but it has been published and is available in bookstores as of today. The book is called Dust and Shadow, a story about Holmes and Jack the Ripper, and it is highly enjoyable. She has done a fantabulous job and Simon & Schuster is already looking forward to publishing her next novel. If you are buying a book this week, I highly suggest this one. If you are not buying a book this week, go and ask your library to get it!
