FAQ!!
Long over due. Here are a few questions I've been asked. Feel free to ask more!

---
"Can I change details about my character after I have played him/her?"
Yes. This is perfectly fine as long as you are not directly conflicting with something that has already been logged more than once. If it's been in a journal post, then you have the ability to change that. In other words, if you have a Lupino who has been role-played as one, and has two logs in the [info]damantru_logs community, then you would not be able to say that character was a human.

If there was only one log, then you can add a note, either as a comment or the log poster can make an edit saying "(character) has since been made into a human."

... Or if you're really good at bull shitting, and can make it believable, then if there have been no more than five logs, you're welcome to. ("A wizard did it" doesn't count.) This would have to approved by me, however.

"Can I have an NPC or two related to my character?"
As long as they don't become the major character, then I have no problem with that. If you have a character that owns/runs a bar, then having a waiter/waitress or two would be fine. If you have a character that is a slave, then you may have an NPC owner. If your character is a slaver and has a special preferred slave, then having them as an NPC would be fine as well.

"Who do Phase shifts affect?"
Technically, Phase shifts only affect Delphin. Lupino and Feln have what can be described as mini-shifts. Mini-shifts are simple things, like a fur color change, not due to seasons, or gaining a set of wings.

"How do other anthropomorphic species gain forms?"
Age and training are the two common factors. There's also some genetics coming into play. Species like the Avizon have a lot of the "transformation" genes turned on, while Lupino and Feln have very few. Humans typically only get these with some genetic engineering. This is where the subspecies of human are suspected to come from.

"Can species interbreed?"
Yes. And they do. I know, this is a potential genetic nightmare. Typically, the gestation period is not quite full term for a normal pregnancy of the female. Single births are the norm, with multiples being very rare. Most of the offspring are sterile.

"Can morphics breed with humans?"
Again yes. But this is exceedingly rare and most offspring are sterile.

"So, if a Lupino and a Delphin have offspring, what's it called?"
Offspring tend to take after the female, and so, if the female was a Delphin, then the child would be called so.

For the non-sterile mixed offspring, they typically look for mates matching their mother's heritage.

"How do Avizon feed?"
It depends on the Avizon. Some of them need physical contact, some just need to be around people who are emotional. Some, mostly prostitutes, need exclusively the feelings given off during sex. Typically, if they're in a crowd, the people don't notice. If it's a single person or a sexual partner, they will feel more tired than usual, but can normally chalk it up to something else in the environment.

Those Avizon that need something more substantial typically wound prey and catch their blood. They don't have hollow fangs.

"What about food for Avizon and Vampires?"
Vampires in this world can eat. They really like to have extremely raw meat, especially steaks. They do not require fresh blood, so blood banks are sometimes used as sources. Human and morphic blood is preferred over the blood of non-sentient animals.

As for the Avizon, it depends on the individual. Some can eat just the same as non-Avizon, others experience varying degrees of bland-ness to their food, and some eat only if they have to, then will usually purge because they cannot process solid foods. Typically, these are the ones that like blood, though some even have adverse reactions to this. Drinks are fine, but some things like smoothies and shakes can cause them to feel ill.

"Can an individual recognize their own species?"
If they are perceptive and are looking for it. In general, one wouldn't inherently know in passing that the person standing next to them was the same species.

I say in general because some individuals do have an innate ability to recognize different species. This ability is not fool-proof, and is exceedingly rare.

"Could one recognize a species not the same as their own?"
Probably not. Other than the tiny few I mentioned above, none have ever been able to consistently.

"Do the morphics wear clothes while in anthro form?"
If the individual chooses, yes. The clothes are typically pre-altered so tails, wings, ears, and the like won't become bound. Others are comfortable enough to go without clothes or covering only the crotch area, but tend to not shift to human form while wearing so little. The fur and scales keep most areas covered well enough.

Most shoes are manufactured to slip off as the foot shifts to hoof, paw, or claw. Certain styles have not been altered, but these are mostly in dress shoes, boots, and fetish wear.

Individuals with scarring, thin fur, or scale and fur-less tend to wear clothes regardless of form.

"Do Delphin wear horseshoes? What happens when they shift?"
Some Delphin do wear them. The saying goes "No hoof, no horse," and hoof care is a major concern for Delphin. Some have, either by poor diet or genetics, weak hooves. Metal shoes help protect the hoof from cracking. Other options, especially for Delphin that live in the city and deal with paved streets, where normal metal shoes are an invite for a broken leg, are dense rubber shoes (like these). The rubber shoes are also nice for Delphin that find the streets to be too harsh on their joints and backs.

Metal shoes come in standard steel and lighter aluminum.

Most, in general, prefer to rely on good, regular hoofcare, and go without metal shoes.

"What is Avizon skin like?"
Being part equine, part dragon, this varies from individual to individual. Some have soft, short fur, some are traditionally scaled like dragons, while others have thick hides. Combinations are found throughout the species.

"What kind of weapons exist, and what are preferred?"
Most weapons an individual on Earth can buy can be found on D'amantru. The governments haven't developed weapons that are capable of destroying a city, but some heavy artillery (tanks, rockets, fighter planes) is avaliable.

Check back often. This list will probably grow!

Also, if I mentioned any of this and something changed, please point it out. I think this should be close, but my log viewer keeps crashing when I try to look through logs. >>
