Should we break out the champagne yet?
NO.

Don't get me wrong, I am really excited the boys came out and won the game tonight. They looked really good compared to what they have been producing the past three weeks. But they still haven't fixed all their gidgets. Yeah, I am going to use that word because it sounds right. Their is plenty of room for improvement for the passing game. I don't blame so much on Romo either. Tonight he made some bad choices, but Terrell Owens and Jason Witten dropped some passes that should have been caught. I can forgive Witten because he only does it once every so often. However there were big passing plays in the game. Miles Austin is a rising star in Big D, and I think should get more chances to prove he can be one of the big boys. Terrell Owens had a nice catch that took the boys to the one yard line. But the most explosive offensive player was the one and only, Marion Barber. It was good to see him play like his normal self. It just seems like the past three weeks he hasn't been able to produce anything. He had some help though, let's welcome back Kyle Koiser! HUGE difference in the offensive line tonight. Running lanes were made, and Romo had times where he was just standing in the pocket. The Redskins got some pressure, but they walked away with ZERO sacks. I give the big boys up front credit for holding down the line and helping this offense out. The defense in my opinion looked pretty impressive. Jay Ratliff was tearing it up tonight. The boys haven't been playing the nose tackle position the way they should be, Jay Ratliff showed everyone how it is done tonight. Congrats to him on his two sacks. :] Another huge welcome back to my boy, Terence Newman! He really helped out with his great coverage on a fourth and four. He also had a pretty nice pick if you ask me. Newman was all over the field tonight. The only other cornerback you heard of was Mike Jenkins, and that was on the play Newman sat out. I think the defense did a very nice job holding Clinton Portis to only 68 yards rushing. In conclusion, the boys need to work on catching the ball, and continue to improve their defense. They also need to STOP with the penalties. I know they can do it, there is too much talent for them not to be able to do it. The key thing is, keep everyone healthy! :]

Well put. I admit I gloated a bit, only because it was the Skins and they gave me so much crap when they beat us in September. So, yes, I was happy to get a W at FedEx Field...notice how quiet it was when Marion kept running for first downs. ;-)

However, 6-4 is nothing to really gloat about. I think if the season ended this week, Dallas would be on the outside looking in, with Tampa and Atlanta probably getting the two Wild Cards. So, yeah, they have a lot of work to do. Good news is, the next two games are against the NFC West, and neither team is above .500. If Felix can return this week, they should be able to make it to 8-4, and make their wild card chances that much better.

From my math, they stand a really good chance should they get a wild card. I have a feeling they would play either Arizona or the NFC North champion.

But yeah, great win becuase it's Washington. Other than that, keep it moving and keep winning...

I gloated myself! From the way they looked like last night, I thought hey maybe we finally got ourselves together and are ready take control of second place in the NFC East (no one can top the Giants right now). But everytime I think that, they come out the next week and lose. So hopefully this time, we are for real. And yes, we NEED Felix back!

This win did save their season without a doubt, but they are still in the hunt for the wildward. Washington and Tamapa Bay are set for wildcard. We NEED to beat San Francisco and Seattle the next two weeks because their conference record is what can knock them out!

I kind of hope they do play Arizona again, because I think they could beat them. They probably would have beat them if Romo wouldn't have broken his pinkie.

I think they looked better in the 2nd half then the first half. The first int was Romo's fault but. the second one I dont think was. T Newman stepped up as well when it was needed with the int and the knockdown at the end of the game.

For the past two seasons they have been a 2nd half team. They seem to come out cold for the 1st two quarters before they finally hit a rhythm.

Was glad to see some very smart play calling, time management and discipline in the last quarter though. I hope this is a continuing trend.

I agree with you. That's the way they played last year. They always played their hearts out in the second half. I am perfectly fine with that, just as long as you don't let the other team run all over you in the first half like the Giants did.

I am really glad we got Terence back, and I hope he stays healthy. He is too big a playmaker in the secondary to keep out.

i felt like they really got their rhythm back with that first down to miles austin on the bennett scoring drive.

i'm still mad about the stupid penalties and two INTs inside the opponents thirty were killers. conceivably this game could've been 28-10.

That's what I was thinking at half time. The score is 7-10 and it should be 21-10 right now. They kept getting breaks and were shooting theirselves in the foots. I am just glad they got it together. It's one step further than what they would have done three weeks ago.

They need to do something about penalties. I know they want to be physical, but learn your limits. As far as the offensive line, I understand if you have an adrenline (sp?) rush going because your offense if moving the ball, but learn to control yourself and stop jumping the line!
