He knocks you to your feet [Active/Open]
Who: Kang, NPC, Daniel Jackson, Spin, Shirayuki
What: CARP is stepping it up!
Where: Madison Square Garden
When: Afternoon, April 3rd
Warnings: Language and violence

Gonna do this party style. If you want to address Kang himself, just ask first~

Madison Square Garden was unusually busy for a Tuesday, bustling with people going to and from the supply center. Kang had his wings pulled in, but he was a bit bigger than the average bozak, so said wings were pretty large.

Most of the inhabitants had gotten used to his presence, and didn't go out of their way to avoid him anymore. Because of this, he didn't think anything of the heavily built human, hood pulled low over his face, that brushed against one of his wingtips. Then, he felt something hard pressed against his lower back, and the human spoke, "You're coming with me, freak."

The smell of gunpowder also caught his attention, and he realized that whatever was at his back was about the size of the barrel of a handgun. That made him freeze; he didn't like guns at all. "Let me guess. CARP, right?"

"Shut up and come with me. Now."

Very slowly, he started edging one hand towards the dagger at his belt, and held back a snort, though he did begin to growl, very lowly, "You finally got tired of picking on women and children, decided to come after someone that could actually fight back. I'm impressed."

The human pressed the gun against him harder, hissing, "The little fucker and his brother are the reason the University got destroyed. It's their fault. Now shut up, you giant lizard! I should just shoot you right here and be done with it! It's because of offworlders like you that these monsters are here!"

"That would be a very bad idea, human. Trust me." Mentioning Fletcher wasn't very smart.

Another jab, and a sneer. "I could easily say you attacked me first. Look at you. You're a monster."

Kang inwardly seethed at the monster comment. Draconians had done some horrific things in the past, but he hadn't done anything in this city that warranted being attacked, "You're not the first human to say that about my kind. Can't say I miss that attitude." There. He took hold of the dagger hilt, but didn't pull it out of the sheath quite yet, hoping he could get the idiot to listen to him. "How about you put the gun away and leave, before you do something very stupid?"

"Fuck no!"

No one had noticed what was going on yet, and hopefully, it wouldn't escalate to a point where they would. The bozak growled a little louder, "If you value your life, human, you will walk away. Now."

The man snarled, digging the barrel into his side hard enough to begin to hurt, "Go ahead and try to kill me! I'll pull this trigger before you can do it!"

It was obvious the human was agitated, and if he did pull it there... well, there would be quite a few people nearby that would get injured, or possibly even killed by the resulting explosion.

"Last warning. You're lucky you got one at all."

"Go to hell!" There was a soft click as the hammer was cocked back on the gun, muffled by cloth.

Well. He'd been warned, and Kang didn't want to chance dying and injuring others in the Garden, so he moved as quickly as he could, pulling the dagger out of its sheath and knocking the man's feet out from under him with his tail.

The gun went off. He felt something hot pierce his side, and hissing in pain, turned around and drove the blade straight into his assailant's chest. A few people in the Garden screamed, throwing themselves down onto the ground in a panic, while a handful of others ducked behind the nearest object they could find; the smell of smoke hung heavy in the air.

The body tumbled to the ground, a glint of silver visible through a small, bullet-sized hole in the cloth of the hoodie. Kang straightened and checked his bleeding side, ignoring the varying looks of fear and surprise he was receiving, relieved to see that he'd only been grazed. Luckily, nobody else had been injured, and the bullet had buried itself into a wall.

This was going to be fun to explain.

Madison Square Garden was not known to be a calm place with few problems. Since Spin had been here, it was the general location for people to come for supplies, medical help, really any problem. It was normal for the place to be a bit chaotic--hence why Spin was there.

But gunshots were a new level. It was only reflexive for people to turn towards a noise like that, and Spin whipped around to look--

Oh man.

While others were looking on in varying levels of fear, Spin gritted his teeth and darted forward to the scene. Reflexively, he knelt to check on the fallen man, but... it was pretty clear there wasn't much to check, at this point.

There was a long pause, before Spin looked up at Kang. He knew the guy. As much as people seemed convinced to the contrary these days, he wasn't a violent, mindless monster. Kang wouldn't do this sort of thing without reason, and Spin had a disturbingly clear idea of what the reason was.

"No good," Spin muttered to the draconian, voice rough.

Daniel was next in line to get his weekly supplies, when he heard a gunshot go off from across the building. Fear rose in his throat as he immediately thought of the only things that might conceivably involve gunshots here: crabs...or CARP. He took off out of the line, dodging people milling around and weaving his way through the skittish crowd. When he finally forced his way through the clot of people around the source of the disturbance, his eyes took in the scene in a second.

Kang was standing there, nursing a bleeding slice on his side. A man lay on the ground with a knife in his chest - a gruesome sight, no matter how many dead bodies you've seen. There was a wide space around the scene as people chattered in fear, staring wide-eyed at the draconian. Spin had managed to beat him there and was already checking the dead man...and his verdict made Daniel's heart sink in his chest.

Ignoring the looks of fear and accusation from the people in the crowd, Daniel immediately went into the scene of the incident and straight to his friend. "Kang! Are you alright? What happened?" There was some concern in his voice, but it played understudy to a determined, commanding air. He was intent on finding out what had gone down so that they could figure out the best way to fix it. There was no doubt in his mind that Kang had been provoked, but this was definitely going to be hard to explain.

Outwardly calm, Kang pressed his hand against his wound, greenish blood soaking into his tunic. It wasn't bad, but it did hurt like a bitch; worse than a sword blade. This only reinforced his dislike of guns. Inwardly, he was wondering what effect this was going to have on the situation. The man deserved to die, as far as the bozak was concerned, and he had no problem with killing, but this was going to make things worse for Manhattan.

"I'm fine. I've had worse, trust me," he muttered, leaning down and pulling his dagger out of the corpse, wiping the blade off on his tunic before replacing it in its sheath. It was bloodstained already.

"This stupid bastard had me at gunpoint, and was trying to get me to go with him. I refused, and gave him plenty of warning. He didn't listen," Kang shrugged. "I didn't want to chance him shooting and killing me right here, since there were others nearby that would have gotten hurt, or even killed themselves in the resulting explosion, so I acted."

Spin kept knelt beside the body as Kang spoke, his expression guarded. After all the things that had gone wrong, all the grief and worry, and everything had come to a head, the last thing people needed was a careless word or a sloppy comment. Agent training taught you to look professional, alongside with the dancing.

And all things considered, Spin had had enough of panicking. He set his jaw, nodded, and stood. "Self-defense," he repeated, loud enough for people to hear. Spin made what he figured was a wise decision to not mention a potential explosion. "It's terrible that it's come to this. And what it means for the future."

Spin looked around. "Did anyone know this man? We need to let any friends or family know what happened." Calm. Collected. Professional. A man in a suit. That was all he could think to be.

Daniel's thoughts were roaring at a hundred miles an hour as he listened to Kang's explanation. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see that a more solid ring of spectators had gathered - and many of them were glaring at Kang. They couldn't know for sure that he and Spin were Offwolders, but they couldn't miss with Kang. This was simply a bad situation all around.

But he was of the same mindset as Spin, and kept his exterior calm, collected, and serious. He nodded in agreement with Spin's assessment. Moving over to the body, he carefully picked up the gun the man had used - and unloaded it, making sure it was easy for other people to see him doing so. No reason to give the impression that he was planning to use it on anyone. He just wanted the weapon neutralized. He set the pieces back down on the ground.

With Spin watching over the body and declaring the verdict (it really did help that he was wearing a suit, in Daniel's opinion), Daniel turned to the crowd. "The situation is under control, everyone," he called, his voice loud and authoritative. "Please stay calm." Pulling out his radio, he sent a quick call to Aya Brea, requesting that she come immediately. They were going to do this the right way. Once that was taken care of, he turned back to deal with their current problems.

They needed to get the body out of the main thoroughfare...which was not going to be especially pleasant. And he hoped that he wasn't ruining a crime scene by suggesting it, but they couldn't just leave the body LYING there in the middle of everything...

Before he could contemplate the problem further, two men stepped out of the crowd: a tall, muscular caucasian man in a flannel shirt, and a shorter dark-skinned man with a backpack. The two came from different parts of the crowd and converged on the group, stopping in front of Daniel. Casting a mildly uncertain glance at Kang, the guy in the flannel shirt stuck out his hand. "Name's Brian. Is there anything we can do to help?" The other man introduced himself as Dave.

Daniel Jackson felt a wave of relief; this was exactly what they needed. Not only for convenience, but getting help from regular citizens of Manhattan might help dissolve the tension in the air. He nodded and explained that they needed to move the body to a better location until the police could arrive.

The two men were about to help Daniel and Kang when another man - tall, blonde, and angry - took a step out of the crowd. The stranger's voice boomed throughout the enclosed space. "You filthy Offworlders! Get your lousy hides out of our home and take your monsters with you! First you bring your monsters, and now you're killing us outright-"

The archeologist went tense with anger at the words. But before he could turn and make a retort, something totally unexpected happened. Brian, the caucasian man, whirled towards the stranger in the crowd with a livid look in his eyes.

"You SHUTTUP!!!" he roared. "I was born 'n raised in this city, so don't you go accusing ME of being an Offworlder just because I'm bein' a help! Anyone with eyes in their skulls could see this idiot tried to kill the big one over there!" He waved a large hand expressively at the body and at Kang. The look in his blue eyes was so intense that the man in the crowd quailed slightly. "I ain't one for sitting around and doing nothing when help's needed, I don't care WHAT extra appendages the other guy's got!"

"Just because they aren't from around here doesn't mean we have a right to go attacking them." Dave, the black man with the backpack, was speaking now. His voice was softer than Brian's, but it held just as much authority. "I'm sick of you warmongers shouting about this garbage when you haven't got any proof. So either shut up and help us with this crime scene - the criminal being the one lying on the ground, I might add - or take your garbage-spewing mouth out of here."

People were whispering in the crowd by now - and if Daniel didn't know better, he thought he could hear the tones of surprise and realization. He watched these events as they unfolded, hardly able to believe his eyes and ears. The blonde stranger stared at the two men for a long moment, suddenly looking more uncertain than angry. Then he quickly turned and slipped away into the crowd. Brian nodded his head once in satisfaction, then turned back to Spin, Daniel, and Kang and spoke as if nothing had happened. "Let's get this over with, then."

They went about their morbid task carefully...but Daniel's mood had definitely lifted. That was one unexpected display. In one fell swoop, they had assistance, witnesses to the crime...and a little bit of honest support from the other side.

Kang had hissed, wings instinctively flaring slightly in his anger, and opened his mouth to respond to the first human, but he was completely floored by the words of the two that had stepped forward to help. His wings settled back into their customary position, and he blinked, "...thank you. I can honestly say I wasn't expecting that."

His left side still burned from the injury, but the bleeding had slowed considerably, and he grimaced, "I hate guns." Carefully, he pulled his tunic up to inspect the damage, sighing, "That's gonna be a pain in the ass to clean." The bozak ripped the hem of his tunic off and tied it around his waist, an impromptu tourniquet, wincing a bit when it was tightened.

Spin had flinched at the first yell. He had expected it. Oh, had he ever. These things happened, and the grim realization had set in that he would have to deal with it. It felt sick.

And he had expected more yells to follow it, as well. But the second shout's content had taken Spin by surprise. A much-needed surprise. Spin stared a moment at the men--Brian and Dave--as he spoke. And that knot in the Agent's gut eased a bit. This was... good.

He gave the pair a smile. "Thank you. Both of you." There wasn't much else to say, not here, in the midst of the high-running nerves. For now, moving out of the way was the important bit. "Don't worry," he commented softly to Kang, just to fill the silence as they moved. "There are plenty of people in the police who know how to treat those things."

In the crowd was a girl, all to confused at this situation. The Dragon Demon being attacked by the man, yet the Dragon Demon didn't seem to be the villain. Some humans protecting him, others looking ready to attack them. The humans reacting like that, was this Erde? Really, even if they were not used to Fandavale, they didn't lash out at the Musketeers. They were confused, but not angry.

Why... why was this world this way, it was so shameful. She broke her way through the crowd, "Um... I can look at your wound?" Wounds were not a thing she was used to, not wounds like that. However she had a few tricks to deal with such things. "I can help." The little girl in the blue dress definitely was an offworlder, no question about it from her hair and how she spoke.

She adjusted her glasses as she looked around, the looks she was getting. She didn't like that, at all.

The two men were certainly modest; Brian grunted a "Not a problem", and Dave nodded in acknowledgement of the thanks. Even as they were moving the dead man's body over to a wall, Daniel still had to say that he was feeling in much higher spirits than he had a moment ago. While the other men straightened the attacker's body out so that he was laying in a peaceful position, Daniel slipped off into the crowd and came back with a sheet procurred from one of the willing supply center workers. Soon the man was covered, face and all. The dead, even one who just tried to commit murder, deserved at least that much respect.

Now they just had to wait for the police to get here. Brian and Dave showed no signs of wanting to take off, so Daniel was more than happy to let them stand gaurd over the body. He approached them, a relieved and warm smile on his face. "Thank you both," he said sincerely, shaking their hands again. "We really appreciate the help...all of it." His meaning wasn't too hard to grasp. "I'm Daniel Jackson, that's Spin and that's Kang. Kang is a good friend of mine; I can't thank you enough for sticking up for him."

Brian shrugged his (fairly large) shoulders modestly, giving Daniel an understanding grin. "Glad to help. I've had enough of those jerkwads." The man tilted his head slightly and gave Daniel a curious, examining look. "So...are you one of 'em, too, then? One o' those Offworlders? Ya don't look near as bizarre as they say."

Daniel stiffled a sigh, one hand reflexively burrying itself in his pants pocket. "Yeah, I am. A lot of people drawn here are human, actually. I gaurantee you, though, we don't want to be trapped here any more than the rest of you." His teeth gritted in anger as he thought about what could have happened to Kang. "This whole CARP thing isn't making us feel any more welcome, I can tell you that. They've stooped so low as to attack women and children; I'm kind of surprised they had the guts to go after Kang." Brian snorted his agreement, that fierce look returning to his face.

Dave nodded, his brown eyes thoughtful. "I believe you. I've been reading up on what you all talk about on that journal network of yours. I hope you guys can help us find the way out of here."

The archeologist smiled and nodded. This was more than good news. "We're definitely doing everything we can. If you two don't mind sticking around until the police get here, your testimonies about what happened will really help clear matters up." Both men nodded their agreement, and Daniel left them to go and check on Kang. After all, he had just procurred a bullet injury.

He was surprised to see a little girl - definitely an offworlder like then, since normal humans didn't generally have blue hair - but when he heard her offer to help, he smiled. If she was offering, that meant she knew how, and probably moreso than he did. He frowned at the few people giving her nasty looks; after what had just happened, you'd think they would have the sense to back down. At least there weren't nearly as many angry-looking people now. "Hi," he said, his voice friendly as he approached. "Daniel Jackson. I'm sure my friend would appreciate you help."

"I think that was one of the humans that attacked Fletcher. He fits the description, and brought up the kid," he said, almost conversationally. He was glad the asshole was dead, really.

They were treating the body with a lot more respect than would have been given in Teyr. Then again, the few deaths that happened at home, there was hardly ever a body left to dispose of. The little girl's voice caught Kang's attention, and he looked down at her, "You are a healer, ma'am?"

Just another day in the city. That sort of thing had become her mantra for so long, and these days provoking attacks and threats had become disturbingly more ordinary. The mass panic amongst the civilians had begun to spread, and Aya didn’t delude herself for an instant that it would be a matter of time before they picked the wrong person to call freak.

And it was Kang of all people. Not only someone who had been a great deal of help to the city, but someone who had expressed genuine kindness as well, despite his appearance. Aya had known far more deserving folk in her days. This was maddening, yet not surprising, also giving Kang’s... appearance. Morbid as it may be, she was surprised it hadn’t happened sooner.

Death and pandemonium aside, there was something bleak lingering in the April air when Aya stepped out of her apartment that morning. If Daniel’s radio call was any indicator, it was that she wasn’t going to waste any time dwelling on it. She was out. Heading to the garage and pulling out one of the motorcycles that she had used typically for her nightly patrols. With the lack of fuel provided within the city, Aya made an effort not to use vehicles all that much unless it was absolutely necessary.

Right now, it seemed necessary enough.

In any case, it provided the speed she needed to get to Madison Square Garden without event, keeping the radio on hand. She hadn’t bothered asking for elaboration from Daniel on the situation yet. She would have to see for herself.

The motorcycle made a gritting halt as she parked it on the outside of the Square Garden. Taking off her yellow helmet, she carried it underneath her arm as she approached where the mayhem first broke out. Seemed she had arrived only a little too late to prevent any further bloodshed, if such a thing was entirely preventable at all. People did the dumbest things when stricken by terror.

Suppose she could throw in an addendum one-liner that most cops tend to sprout in those crime television series, but Aya was at a loss for words as it was. Besides, the scene she saw spoke everything that she needed to know: The dead body, the blood, and an injured Kang being inspected by a little girl.

Aya was tired, and it showed. She had rested, but still, if it was not one thing, it was always another. Finding out that she couldn’t prepare a proper evacuation of these people didn’t help. This could have been prevented. It shouldn’t have had to come to this. She was just tired.

These people...

This was... This was really starting to get out of hand.

With the body moved out of the way, all Spin could do for now was wait for the proper authorities to come. The last thing he needed to do right now was think too much. He'd done too much of that these days, and this gave him too much more to think about.

So you can understand, it's part of nature's plan, I'm just a man

Spin wasn't sure if he'd come up with the tune to occupy himself, or actually heard it... wishful thinking. He tapped his tune to the faint beat, angry but slow.

"No one deserves death," he found himself correcting Kang. He didn't blame Kang for what happened. Not by any means. But he heard the hidden contempt in the draconian's comment. "What you did can't be argued as inevitable. But all the things this... person did, stupid and selfish and disgusting, he was still a person."

He looked up as Aya arrived. "Went better than it could have," he commented to her. "No lynch mobs yet."

"Well, I'm a highly adept mage. Top of my class in magic school," Shirayuki adjusted her glasses, with a very egotistical air to her words, "however... I've never tried Snow of Healing on... um, something like you." She originally thought dragon, however she had never run into a dragon like him, and her other thought of demon was broken by how he spoke and his energy. "However as a three musketeer I'm sure I can find a technique to heal you."

Since she spoke up and stepped forward the looks from most have gotten worse. There were a few faces that didn't seem to be judging the group harshly, but the ones that were harsh stood out more. It gave her a feeling of loneliness. "Oh, um, I'm Shirayuki-hime, nice to meet you all." She gave a small curtsy to Daniel, Kang, Spin, and Aya. She was still chilled by how the people acted, but she didn't show it.

Daniel was relieved to see Aya Brea appear. The people in this city knew that she was one of them, and an authority figure, that that should hopefully help the situation (and maybe get rid of a few more of those glaring idiots). He walked over to her, his face slightly haggard from the stress of the situation. After all, it wasn't every day you found yourself gaurding a dead body in the middle of Madison Square Gardens with a number of potentially upset people staring at you.

"Hey, Aya," he said with relief. "Glad you could get here so fast." Beckoning the two volunteers and Kang over, he explained to Aya exactly what had happened (as far as he know), then introduced her to Dave and Brian, saying that they were witnesses to the event. Aya could do the police work and questioning.

While she was doing that, Daniel walked back over to Spin. He stared down at the sheet-covered body, expression sober, hands buried in pockets. A sigh escaped his lips and he shook his head. "What a mess. Who knew it would come to this?" He looked at Spin and said honestly, "Glad you were here, too, Spin."

(OOC: Brian and Dave are open for everyone to play, have at 'em. ^^)

Kang didn't respond to Spin. They had very different views on things, having vastly different experiences, and there was no point arguing them at that particular time or place. He was glad to see Aya show up, and nodded at her in greeting, "This is quite the mess, isn't it?"

He turned his attention back to the little girl, listening to her explanation, "Ah... if you mean using actual snow, I don't know if that's a good idea. I don't handle cold very well. I do appreciate the offer, though, ma'am."

Death wasn’t something Aya wished lightly on anyone, much like Spin. She would have preferred justice on the ones who attacked the kid over what happened in the Garden that day. Oh well. Guess there was no changing the way things turned out.

Aya nodded slowly at Spin. She rubbed the back of her neck and sighed. “For now, of course, let’s hope that it stays that way. I’d rather not have a body count.” Naturally, even with a few of the Arrivals around, they could still be easily overpowered by the large number of Manhattanites that populated the city if it came to that. She could only hope that it wouldn’t by this juncture. Because while they may be outnumbered, she was certain that there were more than enough to put up a hell of a fight.

She saw Kang, who looked like he had seen better days. She decided to wait until he got his injury taken care of before she would ask him anything. How convenient it would be if that girl could Heal. Aya decided that might ask about that later.

“Does anyone know the name of the deceased yet? I’d like to know if he had any friends we should look out for.” Aya looked back to Spin. She wanted to know a little more information about what happened and how it went down before she started checking things out for herself.

Chances are, once this was done and over with, there would be the selected few who would be beyond reasoning level. Once there was bloodshed, there would be war, mutiny, and more bloodshed. No good could come from this when you’re on an island. Especially when you’re on an island.

The Agent gave the girl a tired smile. "Thank you, Shirayuki. Either way, just the offer is appreciated."

Spin shook his head to Aya. "I asked at the scene if anyone knew him, but no one spoke up. I don't know if he had any sort of identification on him, or..."

Dave cleared his throat a moment, to interrupt. "I checked while we were setting him aside. There wasn't anything."

Spin made a face, before settling with a sigh. "All right, then. At least his friends are bound to show up and make a fuss of it before long, one way or another." The Agent rubbed his neck. This was just going to get worse and worse.

"If I got the story right, the late victim tried to pull a gun on Kang in the middle of the Garden. And there was..." he glanced at Kang, "risk of others getting hurt, too. Even more dangerous situation than implied on the surface."

"Oh, I see, maybe I should just treat it like I'm from Erde then," She tugged on the sleeve of one of the two helping locals, Dave, "Get me a kit with bandages, please?" She also gave a cheery smile to Spin, for his thanks of something she hadn't even done yet.

As he ran off to get supplies she cheerfully walked over and inspected the wound, adjusting her glasses as she figured out how to dress this, "Might be best if you sit down for me to work." Green blood, she wasn't quite sure what color the blood was of a Demon, most of them didn't try to cause fights. Usually the demons turned into Nightmarians, and those don't bleed.

As the man came back with the kit, she offered a small bow and began working on properly dressing the wound. Putting the rest of the people around out of her mind for the moment. They didn't matter so much as doing her best treating this wound.

Daniel grimaced as something Kang had told him about not too long ago resurfaced in his mind: that draconians explode when they die. What a nightmarish mess that would have been; even aside from the tragedy of Kang's death, few people would understand or be willing to understand that it was a natural thing. Very likely it would have been assumed that Kang had been carrying some sort of bomb...and the gunman probably would have been hailed a hero.

Such are the messed up ways of this world, he thought in disgust. And all the others, apparantly.

He didn't know what else he could do at this point, except stand by as moral support and an insurance against another attack. (He did still have his P90 on him, after all.) So he stood nearby, watching with interest at what Shirayuki-hime was going to do. It looked like she was just giving the wound a normal dressing, which was good. Daniel's list of Pros and Cons about this event were staying relatively even - for the moment.

"I would have exploded when I died," Kang said, bluntly. Every draconian was well aware of what happened when each type died, and he didn't see any point in wording it any differently. "He had the gun hidden, tried to get me to go somewhere else with him so he could kill me. I refused, he started getting agitated, and I acted before he decided to just shoot me right there."

Sitting down was probably best, given the height differences. He found a nearby seat and sank into it with a wince, pulling his tunic off completely so the girl could take care of it.

The small bit of info about Kang kind of exploding if he died was certainly a useful bit of information to know. Of course, the assailant had no idea, but you’d have to be stupid enough already to walk up to someone like Kang and try to pick a fight. It occurred to Aya then that if it had been Kang to be killed, there would have been more than just one casualty that day. She glanced around at those who were just as liable to have lost their lives, and yet condemned the Arrivals for conditions beyond their control.

It was sickening and she was not in the mood for this crap.

So there was no identification on him. “Figures.” Aya shrugged. “Guess it doesn’t matter much right now, anyway. If you can’t find a body bag, cover it in a tarp. At the very least he can have a burial if no one claims him.” No sense in letting a corpse rot...

Aya distinctively remembered all the corpses strewn throughout the university Eve had attended. All of those people who didn’t make it out in time, either crushed to death or barricaded, starved to death, torn apart by the parasites.

She would not resort to any such barbarism.

While the little girl, Shirayuki, took care of Kang’s wounds, Aya took a seat beside Kang, placing the motorcycle helmet on the ground. She listened to him, nodded, and sighed afterwards.

“You don’t mess with a fire without expecting to get burned. What’s done is done. I’m more concerned if any of this guy’s friends show up. Until then, I’d suggest staying out of public until this blows over. If you need anything, the police force will offer you protection.” She looked up at the others for a moment. “We tracked down the other guy who attacked the kid just a few days ago. Didn’t find the other guy, though. You think that might’ve been him?”

Shirayuki just kept quiet, this place was so alien. Humans distrusting non-humans like that, a body in the room. She'd never been near a body like this. Nightmarians evaporate, the Lycan's did similar. She had never seen a dead body before, in any form. It was very uncomfortable to be around.

So she swallowed that discomfort and tried to hide it as she worked on Kang's injury. The explosion idea also not a very appealing thought. None of this was right at all!

Kang shook his head, wincing and hissing a few times as Shirayuki patched up his side, "No. I won't stay out of public because of this. If I hide, it will make people think that I was in the wrong, and that CARP is scaring us; it's best for me to keep on doing what I normally do." He smiled at Aya, "I do appreciate the offer, though."

Glancing over at the corpse casually, the bozak nodded, "Yeah, I think so. He made a remark about Fletcher, and he fits the description."
