Meeting the daisy....full report

Like I promised....and sorry for all possible mistakes and blurry pictures.....
On Saturday morning me and a friend made our way to the collectormania. It has been in walking distance of the hotel. Really a huge shopping centre…..we directly went for the organizers booth, buying our first Daisy autographs.
The girl behind the desk put his name on the receipt and only then I realized that it was really going to happen.
Just a little description of the event in general: There were about 20 celebrities, more or less famous, sitting behind desks at some places in the centre. I think 6 in the front, six in the back and the others were in pairs of two some place else. In front of every desk was a queue with waiting people. The queues weren’t too long because you had to get yourself a number and waiting for the number to appear before you could line up at all. This whole event is purely about getting autographs…according to the name. Nothing else was going on, apart from some stalls which were selling fandom stuff.
David’s desk was actually in a row with five others, but he was close to one side so that you could take pictures of him, even when you weren’t in the queue.
But when we arrived he still wasn’t there and inwardly I was still thinking……he’s not coming….he’s not coming. We sat down, waiting, looking at people and I think we went someplace else for a little while. When we returned he was suddenly there, already standing behind his desk and my heart skipped a beat. Worn out blue jeans, black shirt with the first two buttons open, black leather jacket and shades, hung up in the middle of his shirt. That man was simply sex on 2 legs.

We watched him for a while, approaching him from the side…..about 4 meters close to him, taking some pictures. Mine got all blurry because my hands were shaking badly.
I finally was determined to do it…..Face the daisy….no matter what! YAY!
I choose the first items for him to sign very carefully. One picture from the b/w hi-res series I love so much and the cover of Answered by Fire. They were offering pics as well, but only Faramir ones and one of Carl. Most of the people over there only knew him for LOTR anyway.
On wobbly legs and with shaking hands I approached the end of the queue, waiting for my turn. Honestly, while I was getting closer and closer the air suddenly grew very thin.
Finally it was my turn and the girl who was sitting beside him, sorting the pics for him, literally gasped when she saw my first pic and I think David did, too. (
dryope, another reason for me, to thank you on my knees for them :) )

Thanks to Jenny, I do have a pic of me meeting him:

He heard my name and wondered about it. It’s quite unfamiliar for English speaking persons and there’s nothing similar to it. It’s just typical German.
“so I said….yes, it’s a German name”
And he asked me where I came from. When I mentioned Northern Germany, he said ‘close to Hamburg?” and I was surprised that he had a knowledge about Germany at all.
I thought it was a good opportunity and managed to say that we missed him at the ringcon last year. He apologized himself, saying that he had to work. (Well, and we’ve seen the gorgeous outcome of it…..but I didn’t say that :D )
The next moment his eyes fell onto the cover for Answered by Fire and this time he really gasped. Looking up, he questioned, “Where did you get this?”
Well, I swallowed hand when he was directly facing me, probably murmuring something like, “Somewhere on the net….from an Australian store…”
And he carried on with, “I haven’t even seen in myself….” I complimented him about the movie but apart from that I can’t remember much more. I turned around and tried to make my way back to Jenny, shaking all over. With trembling hands I showed her the autographs, babbling all over. And only when she gave me a funny look, I realized that I was babbling in German.

Finally Jenny had gathered enough courage to join the queue and I was accompanying her again. What Jenny asked him is her story to tell….
When he saw me, he said something like, “ahh…it’s you, Ulrike again!” Oh yeah, what a start…..made me all tongue-tied again.
Nevertheless I managed to ask him if he’s going to come to the Ringcon this year and he asked when it’ll take place. So after I said “November….” He replied with something, “I have no idea….” It sounded like nobody had asked him again. Funny….Maybe only his managers will know.
We talked some more but I can’t remember about what. I’m sorry….but got too distracted by his chest hair, his beautiful eyes, his wonderful lips….
In the end he said good-bye and mentioned, “maybe I’ll see you at the Ringcon…” which made us wonder. Well, he surely didn’t expect us to come back again *giggles*. But I don’t know what’s the point with him and the Ringcon. It made me wonder if they parted on bad terms because of the last year.
Time and time he was leaving again. They had a secluded booth somewhere at the side of the centre where the actors were taking their breaks. Every time he went through the centre he was accompanied by a handler and never ever somebody approached him.
We followed in a safe distance, so we knew which paths he took. Well, we actually learned where he visited the loo. But don’t worry….we didn’t wait in front of it for him to come back.
Okay, a while later, we both joined the queue again. David looked up, looked down and then he looked up again, shaking his head incredulously. He had the funniest expression….”Oh…it’s you again, Ulrike!” and I made an apologetic gesture with my hand.
You can still see a bit of this expression in the following pic, somebody of the organizers took for me. See the expression of the guy behind David. He was his handler and probably thought something like…”Beware of stalkers!”

David was interrupted by a text message or a phone call but he put his mobile away quickly afterwards.
I asked him, what he was doing in the UK, apart from this event… and he answered that he was visiting some friends.
Next turn was Jenny’s and I managed to take some pics. See guy behind him…..neutral expression….no danger :D

Soon after it the first day was over and he left.
second day…..
On the second day we were a little bit late, hangover (at least me :D) and feeling sick again.
The Daisy was already there, this time wearing a brown leather jacket and a white short. Damn, this man knows how to dress and he certainly has a fine collection of leather clothes….:D
We watched him from the side again. His hair was still sleep tousled….simply adorable….

Jenny and I felt even worse than on the first day. I have no idea why……but well….
Finally I was brave enough and headed for my 4th (!) time to join the queue.
When I approached him, he greeted me like an old friend, “Ahh, hello Ulrike….!”
Did I mention that his voice is extremely sexy? It’s actual a very low voice, contrary to some characters he played. And it made me shudder all over…….
The night before I looked for the link where I bought ABF and I wrote it down for him. And no…..neither did I add my phone number, nor my email address *rolls eyes*.
I gave it to him, saying, “just in case you ever want to buy your own movies…..”. He was grinning all over. Oh my…..what a sight *sighs*
And then he said, “Obviously you’re quite familiar with the net….” (That’s quite the understatement of the century). And at this moment I must have blushed furiously. Thankfully he didn’t realize it and carried on, “Do you happen to know a site called ‘Desiccated Coconut’?”…..Okay……he said ‘desiccated coconut’ in just that voice and I probably looked at him like a kid towards the tree on Christmas Eve. Not coherent for any reply I simply nodded. And he asked me, if I’d knew who was doing the site……(*hears a low thud coming from MIS in the background*). I answered something like “I don’t know but I guess it’s American……”(was a damn good guess, wasn’t it?) And I asked “Why do you want to know?” and he answered, “Because they do have quite a sense of humour….”
And he finished with saying something like, “I’m watching you!” in a playful voice and all I did was turn around, gasping inwardly and making my way back to Jenny, probably muttering something like “Fuck…..Fuck…..Fuck” :D

Nevertheless, we went on watching him. Well, we hadn’t anything better to do at all. Neither Jenny nor I were interested in anything else. It was funny. We know exactly which way he was leaving for a break but often enough he managed to sneak around us, certainly not intentionally but he still did it.

The next time I went I asked him about upcoming projects but he was truly reluctant to answer these questions. Not a surprise if they’d be still in negotiations. I asked him if Marriage was done and he said yes. He told me that 300 and Marriage should be wonderful movies. Well, yes, David and we’re waiting badly for it.
When Jenny went again I accompanied her to take some pics. At this time there actually wasn’t any queue at all. Hard to believe, but it looked like nobody wanted an autograph from him any more. Good for us because it gave us some time to chat him up. I think Jenny talked about the Ringcon in the UK.
He said, “You guys came well prepared!” and I think I answered something like, “yeah, we did our homework…”
Unfortunately I can’t remember the rest of the conversation. Jenny? Ah yes….she asked him if it wasn’t boring, to sit there all day and sign his name for people. And he replied, “Nah…it’s fun!”
I have troubles to believe that, especially with all the people who let him sign the same pics over and over again. I doubt that there had been a lot of Daisy fans around and that gave us certainly an advantage.
At a quarter to four they made an announcement that he’d be gone at return half past four. I was worried that would be too late for me for another go, so I asked the woman who was taking care about him for the whole day if I could go for another turn. I really didn’t like this woman but she was actually pretty nice (*groans*) when I explained that I needed to catch a flight.
So I went for my last time. I thanked him for his time, shook his hand and had really problems to tear my self away.
We were both wondering what he were doing in that long break.
I really wanted to leave afterwards and I needed to because I still had to go back to Luton. But I couldn’t. Jenny and I both waited until he returned to catch a final glimpse of him.
And he returned. This time he was wearing sunglasses because the day suddenly had become very bright. I took a few more pictures.

I think all in all he only was there for 15 minutes before he finally left. Obviously he only had a light luggage with him :

And then he was really gone……*sniffs* and I had to hurry like a maniac to catch my plane.
All in all it was a fabulous experience. David Wenham in real life is absolutely gorgeous and handsome, very nice and owning a voice which could raise you from the death. I hope one day I’d be able to meet him again but I’m really not sure if I want him to remember me. It would be flattering but on the other hand, I’m convinced that I acted like the most craziest, stalking fan girl. (*crings at the thought*).
