Internet won't work. It may be BT after all. Oh dear oh dear oh dear. I've been cut off! If I don't turn BT on, I'm good, but once I get cut off I have to wait for a long time, and as long as BT is on I won't get on either. Oh dear oh dear oh dear.
Anime
I shall have to find another source. Megaupload may be the only hope left. And if I'm watching some shows other people don't watch ... IRC again, I suppose.

The keyboard is especially cool I think.
I had a very helpful conversation with someone today. I think getting an uninvolved viewpoint really helped, especially when it's coming from someone's who's been through something similar. Hopefully things will get better.

Every night, he flipped a coin to decide whether or not he would call her. Heads he did, tails he didn't. For weeks and weeks it turned up tails.
Then one night, it didn't. He was nervous as he dialed the number.
"...She died yesterday."
That was just his luck.

Nothing's up yet (it won't be until after my final on Monday) - I just wanted to see if anyone was interested in helping me moderate/admin the forum (preferably someone I 'know' already - but if not, that's okay too), and if anyone was interested in joining once it was up!
EDIT: (by the way, what does "ETA" stand for?)
- The characters are ORIGINAL CHARACTERS, so you create your own character. They are NOT real people. :D
- The minimum will be two paragraphs per post.

They were going to visit the mystical hermit, who lived in the forest just beyond the chain-link fence at the edge of the abandoned playground. Fortunately, he was willing to meet them halfway, but he didn't look particularly mystical in the synthetic-material winter jacket. He also spotted me spying on them from above.
For some reason, when I fly, I can hover just fine, but when I move I have to swoop, like the annoying cape-flying in SUPER MARIO WORLD. Apparently that's the wrong kind, which explains why I haven't manifested dragon disciple powers (or even sorcery) so far.

( The short version: I want to write meta on Disney movies. Good Idea, Y/N? )
I'd like to touch on the cultural backgrounds of the original stories, discuss the major changes made to the films, explore the cultural motifs (both American & other) and a few other things. Yes, some of those topics were discussed in "making of" books, articles, and interviews. But I'm not an industry insider and my interpretaions would mirror that. I love myth, stories, and the art of storytelling. I think looking at these films from a more anthropological/sociological perspective is fascinating.
Of course if I was a real scholar these would be ridiculously annotated, cross-indexed and foot-noted and be submitted as a fifty page thesis on the post-modern Americanization of myth, but I am not that
( Cute for pretentious faux titles! )
Hahaha, so maybe only the ones under Aladdin and Mulan are closer to the things I would be writing. But seriously, what would you like to see in a meta about these movies? Other than screencaps. Are you interested in feminist issues? Localization issues? Race issues? Class issues? Narrative flow and themes? What else? Or has someone else written THE definitive meta on these films and I shouldn't dabble?
PS Lest anyone look at this entry and think I'm a "hater," I have a genuine love for almost all the (Disney animated) films of that era. It's because I love them that I find it fun to write about.

There is a legend in Japan that if someone folds 1000 paper cranes, the gods will grant them a wish (of their choice).
Though I'm not sure what I want to wish for, or rather, what wish is worth 1000 paper cranes, I have decided that I'm going to fold myself 1000 paper cranes. ^__^ Inside the last paper crane, I'll write my wish. I'd like to make between 3-5 a day, but we'll see XD
But anyways, the end result of this is that now, each day, I will post an entry with my current crane count at the top of the entry ^___^ Some days I may be in a hurry and post only this, other days I may post the rest of the entry.
But regardless, I wanted to give everyone an update. ^__^

I've mentioned before how on HGTV, they avoid talking about the relationships of two people of the same sex who aren't family but live together. Well, it's not much, but on an episode of CA$H CAB, they showed two ladies kissing on the mouth twice. (The episode synopsis is not helpful.)
By the way, I have no idea why DEADLIEST CATCH is supposedly "the most popular nonfiction show on cable." I already think no one's going to recognize the references to shows I actually do watch in my projects.

The style was absolutely gorgeous and sort of reminded me of Pushing Daisies, only way more intense and busy. Lots of bright colors, the sky was abnormally blue, etc.
The casting was awesome. I loved Christina Ricci as Trixie and Susan Sarandon. And that guy from V For Vendetta whose name I don't remember...the Voice of England guy. Prothero. That's it.
And..oh my god. THE GUYS. Why were there so many ridiculously delicious men in that movie?!?!
Let's see...Emile Hirsch was adorable, Racer X was ten times hotter before he took of his mask, IMO, but still good otherwise (especially with that suit on in the end.), the other guy on their team, the asian guy, was quite good looking. And some other asian guy with crazy white hair that we kept calling Godot.
Oh my god. Inspector Detector. He was like if you take Yahtzee Croshaw and add some kind of accent (couldn't recognize it) and 9000 tons of stunning good looks. (sorry Yahtzee. I think I liked him better. It might have something to do with me drawing him in a mantrain as I type this. Oh, I wish I was joking. *facepalm*)

I also wonder how on earth the fluffy bread crust of the cream puff manages to stay at room temperature yet when bitten into, the oozing custard is chilled? This came to me when we stepped out of Beard Papa's and I was surprised. In the end it was still delicious as the filling was subtle and delicate to the taste.
I want to watch The Fall.
