My lack of updating lately would probably have something to do with the fact that I've been out and spending lots of enjoyable time in my home state of Rhode Island. I really like Rhode Island. I also really like JessJess, who came to visit Rhode Island. Well, really, she came to visit me, I just happen to be in Rhode Island.

Day 1 Jess showed up about 6 pm ish, where we ate some chicken and pasta dish my dad made. Go, chicken and pasta! And then we went to Providence Place with Peter. We searched (fruitlessly) for the little basket-y thing that probably has some official name for his espresso maker. We also got chocolixers from Godiva. And... I can't remember what other stores we went to, but the main point of our trip there was to go to the IMAX. We saw Kung Fu Panda since it was the only thing I could figure out was playing. It was actually a pretty cute movie. & Jess hadn't ever been to an IMAX.

Day 2! We got up and went to Newport with my mom and Rachel. Rachel came because her dance teachers are dance nazis and kicked her out of their dance studio. It's really a long story, so I'm just going to move on with Day 2. The first thing we did was tour one of the Newport mansions, The Breakers. The mansion looks like this:

I know I've gone on that tour before, but it was a long time ago. Thus, I didn't remember anything and the tour was really interesting. We also did some shopping, and the cliff walk, and ate food at the Brickalley Pub which is amazing.

Newport has lots of pretty gates.

Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:

We also looked at boats from the pier. I like boats.

Here is PROOF (just in case you didn't believe me) that Jess came to visit:

Sadly, you'll just have to take my word that my mom and sister were there because I'm not including any pictures of them. You're lucky I'm including pictures of me, really. After Newport, we stopped at Coldstone (yum) and returned to Warwick where Jess, Rachel, and I watched P.S. I Love You, even though I really dislike Hilary Swank. Whose name may have two "L"s, and not one, but I don't really like her so I'm not going to look up the correct spelling. I'm pretty sure I'm right, anyway.

Day 3! The same people who went to Newport + my sister's friend Tess jumped in the car and headed to southern Rhode Island. Oh southern Rhode Island, I really like you. First we went to the Umbrella Factory - stores, glasses from 1830's that I really wanted, silk dresses, plants, fountains, ostriches... It was quite the interesting place. I even bought a silk dress. It's orange. Then we went to the beach.

I thought the water was really cold, but my mom told me to stop being such a wuss. Following the beach, Jess and I met up with Julia at TGI Fridays for Jess's birthday dinner! Oh. Day 3 was also Jess's birthday. We ate lots of food, and both Jess and I had two drinks (me: Pomegranate Margarita and Espresso Martini. Jess: Caipirinha and Mudslide Martini.) After, we headed here to sing Happy Birthday (of course, we had a birthday cake for her), and Rachel, Tess, Julia, Jess, and I watched The Ring.

Day 4. I had to get up early to take care of responsibilities and pick up iced coffee for Jess and I. Then I got her up and we made a german apple pancake for breakfast. Shortly after that, Jess left. I'm pretty sure the rest of Thursday was rather uneventful, with the exception of starting a new puzzle. Speaking of that puzzle, one of my fuzzies WALKED ON IT AND DESTROYED IT. Except by destroyed, I mean that the border was no long complete. I almost had a complete breakdown because I couldn't find them, but then I did and realized that no real damage had been done. Still don't really feel like working on it now, regardless.

Friday, I went to the beach with my Aunt, favorite cousin, and Rachel. We made a turtle out of sand and decorated it with seashells, and I was a complete idiot and didn't reapply sunscreen everywhere and incidentally burned my ear and the backs of my legs. I'll probably get skin cancer now.

Today I went to POLO. I love polo. Of course, I went with the Erickson's. Today the match was pretty exciting, since the US team wasn't completely obliterated like with the French. The final score was 13:12, US. Pretty sweet. However, I did feel completely horrible at one point, I am pretty sure it was combination of the heat and all the alcohol and the fact that my stomach was probably pretty empty. But Carolyn and Mrs. Erickson took very good care of me. We also ate pizza and watched the first hour of "The Birds" which was surprisingly little about birds.

My poor little mp3 player must feel like a neglected child. When I plug it into Marten the macbook, my mp3 recognized the computer as a source of energy and tries to charge the battery. Marten just completely neglects and won't recognize it in any way, shape, or form. So I had to get a program to actually change music on it, and the charging of the battery totally sucks and doesn't last very long, no matter how long I charge it for. Oh well.

Congratulations if you reached the end of this, and I'm really sorry it was so boring.

Okay, so I don't have anything to update about that doesn't involve gushing about my romantic life (which I know I would get annoyed at if I had to read it all the time), so I figured I'd attempt to get involved with you guys in my journal again.

So. Ask me questions. Anything you can think of. No minimum numbers, no maximum numbers. I'm changing the security to public so you can even remain anonymous if you wish.

I'll answer in a separate post.

I locked myself out of my apartment. I was on the back patio cleaning cat boxes and so I shut the sliding glass door and when I went to go back in it would not open. My front door was locked so even if I hopped the fence the door was still locked. I could clearly see the cats that I'm not supposed to have wandering the apartment. So I went into panic mode and almost pulled my arms off trying to pull the door open.

Then I went all Hulk on the screen door and pulled it off the track and the sliding door opened.

That would have sucked so bad.

Several things before I begin. If you haven't seen Penelope, you must. It's an adorable film, with just the right amount of charm and wit and fairy tale. And also two Doctor Who links, that I was able to see at least. Burn Gorman and Shaun Parkes are both in it. Burn is Larry a newspaper guy with no accent, and Shaun is a paparazzi towards the end. Also one of the few without an accent. It's an adorable movie and Christina Ricci and James MacAvoy were darling.

Second I am now in the know, I get what the Dr. Horrible thing y'all are talking about is, and will likely try and catch that later.

The movie 2ge+her is on YOUTUBE! OMG! This movie brings back some serious memories, I used to know this movie by heart dude. I was trapped in that fat guy suit. Micky p gots to do what Micky P's gots ta do. OMG!

Also, thank you all for being my friends and putting up with me during this intense part of my life. I can't imagine trying to live my life without you guys.

I have to thank [info]becky_monster for the beautiful fic she wrote and dedicated to me. A very cute NCIS fic with Abby and Ducky talking about Doctor Who and Gibbs. And it can be found here. Thank you sweetie, it's more than just the story, the fact that you wrote it, and you're thinking of me. Means the world to me.

And now for something totally different...

Warnings: None.
Notes: This was made to celebrate International Day of Femslash (Femslash isn't represented enough in fanmixes). This mix is dedicated to [info]danniisupernova (I hope she doesn't mind), for sharing my love of fanmixes, and alerting me to the day itself. Anyway, I kind of planned this mix around the idea of Pansy and Hermione being unable to deny their attraction to each other. But of course, they both eventually realize it is so much more than that. X-posted.

P.S. Okay, I know [info]miss_bushido is gonna say, "Another song from the Fright Night soundtrack?!" XP But I felt I needed another song to convey Pansy's feelings, and this one really fit the bill. Especially with in regards to Hermione.

Feeling: awake

One.

There is a thing in theater where you do a tech week and opening weekend goes well.  Then you have that week off and come back to do the show the following weekend and well, it sucks.  Not that it did.  We were just a bunch of slugs that did not want to be there.  We just dragged.

The scroll struggled which was saved by Michelle grabbing the rope and just pulling (small corner area with Michelle and I both on chairs trying not to fall).  I later learned from Joe "I could hear fuck fuck fuck on stage and thought maybe I should play louder.  And it was in harmony"

That would have been Michelle and I.

One. Point. One.

Please don't fart in front of me as I am escorting you around the building.  It brings new meaning to being down wind.  I am not talking "Oh God what is that smell?"  It was more like hearing the horn quartet going off doing a Hendrix solo and knowing it was NOT going to smell like roses, or even dead ones.

Mikey: Are you okay?
Me: *GAGGING*
Mikey: I'm sorry.
Me: What died in your fucking ass?!

One Point. Two.

Please don't adjust yourself in front of me...especially four times.  I know you wear tights and I know it is 100 degrees out, but MY GOD I don't need to SEE!

Two.

I have Joe, Michelle, Julie, Mikey, and Jason so far on board for Clue.

"That is a A-w-e-some." - Joe.  (Yeah I have never heard that either)

Three.

Houlihans gave me A LOT of cast video footage...especially a Gilbert and Sullivan sing a long.

Yep.

Four.

I never do midnight showings....but I am doing it for X-Files.  Oh Hell Yes.  Got a ticket to be a full fledged X-Phile again.

Four. Point. One.

I love David Duchovny

From Time Out New York:

TONY: So true. When referring to hard-core X-Files fans, which of the following words do you use: nerds, dorks or geeks?
David Duchovny: I refer to them as old friends.

Five.

Ad for next week's Project Runway:

"A teradactyl out of gay Jurassic Park" - Tim Gunn.

God I missed you Tim!

Six.

So, The Dark Knight. Holy fucking shit. That. Was. So. ~AWESOME~. Absolutely worth waiting in line for five hours, suspending all sarcasm. It surpassed my expectations, which is saying a hell of a lot, as I have been waiting for this movie to come out since Batman Begins. I can't remember the last time I squealed, gasped (out-loud), and cheered at the same movie. If you have not seen it, go see it right now. I cannot recommend this enough. The acting was ~sublime~ (Heath Ledger is a brilliant Joker), the writing was ~supurb~, and Dr. Crane is in it, if only for a little while.

My computer is finally, finally, FINALLY back in my hands from Dell, and lo and behold, it works. This is ~luxurious~ to me right now.

I know some of you will be seriously interested in this, and not everyone has [info]phinnia friended. Giveaway of the Day is giving away Liquid Story Binder XE, which looks amazingly useful. It allows you to organize your writing, has its own word processing software, tracks by chapter or scene, records...the only thing it doesn't do, apparently, is chop, dice, and puree. The giveaway goes on until midnight PST, so get on it if you're interested.

I have a shitton of other stuff to talk about, but I'm too tired to deal with serious thought. Suffice it to say that if I can quit my job with no notice and still have income, I will, and I will tell the managers to fuck themselves on my way out.

Dark Knight...fucking whoa!  Just fucking whoa!

My brain is still reeling because the movie NEVER lets up.  I might do a review thing at some point, but I was literally left speechless at the end.

And if there is a bandwagon to get Heath Ledger an Oscar nomination...I am SO on it.  Creepiest  villain have seen in YEARS (he puts Nicholson to shame).  He was disturbing to watch.

(What is the deal with Bale's Batman voice? it annoys me)

The place cheered with the dedication at the end.

But be warned - too many damn trailers.....Watchmen looks amazing!  Keanu -- please stop acting.

I have to do a show tonight....brain can't think

just cause i didn't post about it before...

we saw The Dark Knight this past Sunday night at a super advance screening put on by our regular comic shop.

holy. fucking. shit.

firstly, we saw it in IMAX. which was AMAZING.

secondly, as far as i'm concerned, it's not only the best Batman movie, but it's seriously the best MOVIE movie that i've seen in years.

hands down.

and Heath Ledger was fucking terrifying as The Joker. he was scary, sarcastic and yet almost funny at times. his mannerisms (especially his facial expressions) were PERFECT. it is an absolute tragedy that he's dead. if he doesn't win an Oscar for this movie, i'll be one pissed off person among many i'm sure.

Chris' 25th birthday was Wednesday as well. we spent the entire day at Six Flags, where we proceeded to get nice and crispy and ride almost every roller coaster in the park (and PS - the Dark Knight coaster was indoors, super short and pretty much a disappointment). i bought him a Joker shirt in the gift shop, which he has worn on 2 different occasions since.

highlight of the day: the Superman coaster. you ride suspended and flipped on your stomach, and after the first drop (where we all stuck our arms out in the traditional Superman pose), it does a loop and at the bottom you're going headfirst while laying on your back. absolutely brilliant.

the party continues Saturday, as we're going out to GameWorks (like Dave & Buster's but way cooler). video games and booze. can't go wrong :)
