Hello everyone! I don't know about you, but I've missed this community being active!

The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert

It was fifteen years ago today that some of rock's biggest stars joined together to pay tribute to Freddie. I'm sorry there aren't more pictures, and that they're not better quality, but I've been quite stressed/busy with school/exams. Maybe sometime soon I'll do a proper picspam, with dvd caps.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy what I do have, and take a moment to remember the great show, honoring the great singer, performer, man.

This is taken from the copy of "The Sanfransisco Examiner" that covered the FMTC. Its caption is as follows: John Deacon, left, Roger Taylor and Brian May, the three remainging members of Queen, sing at the charity concert to celebrate their late partner, Freddie Mercury, who died of AIDS.

I love this picture. It's nice to see them smiling and having a good time with an old friend during rehersals.

I love this moment in the show. Robert just likes to rub his butt against guitarists, I think. :) (And dude, what is up with that shirt?!)

This part always makes me choke up a bit. You can just see the pain in Brian's eyes, and hear it in his voice. What a beautiful song, a beautiful moment, and a beautiful tribute. ♥

Roger, George Michael, and Brian playing '39. His performance was the best, in my opinion. His vocals were right on. His speech before he sings "Somebody To Love" is particularly touching. Freddie would have been proud.

I really hate Axl's shirt from this part of the show. :\ And man. Freddie could pull off the tiny white shorts, but Axl? Hmm.

Again, not so sure about those shorts, dude.

LIZA!!, Roger Daltrey, and of course, Roger Taylor. Again, I love to see them all so happy, and having fun.

Because March 4th, last Sunday, was the 30th anniversary of the UK release of the "Tie Your Mother Down" single and because I forgot the same anniversary of "Somebody to Love" in December, I aim to make you all fall of your chairs with stills from the video of the first one.

The quality's not that great, but I do think they're clear enough.

I've been meaning to post these for a while, but I haven't made the time, but since today is Valentine's Day, I thought I'd give you all a little present. :)

I believe these were taken while the boys were at Ridge Farm, 1975. There aren't many, but I think (hope?) you'll enjoy them.

They're playing some kind of billiards game, I'm not quite sure what. They seem to have many red balls, along with a few white balls, a few black balls and a few green balls...Yeah, so what, I just wanted to say "balls" as many times as possible. ;)

Freddie is clearly very distracted by Roger's unzipped jeans (who wouldn't be?), who is completely oblivious to the whole situation. Brian and John are totally aware, and think it's quite funny, thanks.

Freddie's now trying his best to regain his focus. Trying to sink his ball in the hole, I suppose...

Does anyone else wonder who the hell that blonde dude in the background is? He looks like the same blonde dude on the back of the Queen album cover? Also, I love the angle of this shot.

Aww. Brian's cuddling his stick. And Roger's...well, being odd. And John looks so adorable. Look at the way he juts his hips out.

Itty bitty, I know, but I had to include it.

Again, rather small, but...You can never have too much Queen Playing Pool. (Who's the dude in the tank top?)

I don't even know exactly what to say. He's so insanely thin, and I love him.

I really need to be reading these articles and writing up an issue analysis paper for my curriculum class, but...I don't really feel like it.

After re-watching the second Wembley disc last night with how_obscure, we've been all aflutter over the boys and their kids. So, I decided to shirk my homework for a little while and give myself over to absolute pleasure.

I do hope you enjoy. ♥

I love seeing all the kids mingling together. ♥ I think that's Felix and Jimmy together, with Michael behind them? Then there's Chrissie with Lousia (in her adorable little pink dress) and I think Robert's beside them, behind the black lady. Then, in the front right corner is Laura, I believe. Not sure where Joshua is, he'd only have been about two and a half at that time...

One of my absolute favourite moments from the "A Beautiful Day" documentary. Freddie's so adorable. "Not mine! But...very beautiful!" Of course she's beautiful Freddie, she's Roger's baby! And look how cute Dominique is, all giggly with Freddie. ^_^

What's cuter than Freddie with a baby? Freddie, Mary, and a baby- that baby being Rory again, as adorable as ever. I love a few moments later when Freddie's dancing around and Mary's just like "Oh, Freddie..." I love the way Dominique watches Freddie watching Mary with Rory. Makes me wonder what Freddie's thinking about...

Brian with Lousia and Jimmy, and...Felix maybe? Or Michael? I'm not sure. Also- does anyone else see the blonde curls of Brian's?

So, after I gushed about that, I remembered I had several pictures of Roger and his children, and went from there...

Hello everyone! I've missed you! ♥

Anyway, after our last fabulous post, I realized I had another picture from that same time, and thought I'd post it. Then, after reading through the comments, realized I had another picture that you all simply must see.

Further reading revealed that far too few of you are acquainted with the Nearly!Naked!Photoshoot, so I hope to fix that now!

There comes a time- around 4:00 AM, incidentally- when one simply ceases to give a damn about α,β,γ,δ-tetraphenylporphine, no matter high its extinction coefficient may be. It might be a pretty purple, but you know what? I've decided that Queen are prettier. So as a respite to my laboratory report, I come bearing algunas fotitos del grupo más lindo del universo. (This post also serves as a palliative to the pain engendered by my roommates' merciless denigration of Queen today). Oh, how I miss living with someone who understands as well as we do here at daily_queen.

In any case, gorge yourselves on these regal treacles, my downy darlings.

My, isn't Mr. May looking prim this morning! The perfect nails, the pristine curls, the infallible vêtements! (Freddie of course requires no comment- his divinity has been corroborated irrefutably). Instead, I decided to post, despite the fact that I don't even time to respond to e-mails. I'm terribly sorry if I've neglected you. I don't even have time to think, and when I do, it turns out like last night.

Well, first of all, happy birthday to how_obscure and aqua_magnetic!! I hope you both had wonderful birthdays. :)

Today, as a gift of sorts, I bring you some stills from the video/documentary of One Vision. Some of these are repeats from my One Vision post back in March, but some of them are "new." Most are fairly small, but a few towards the end are larger. If you have any specific moments/scenes that you'd like capped in addition to these, please, let me know and I'll try to do that for you. :)

I'm also including the YouTube video of the extended video, just in case some of you have not seen it.

I just had the most frabjous day ever. *chortles in her joy* I thoroughly indulged my profligate sybarite half today- she's been utterly crushed lately; besides, since last night I was forcibly subjected to a Hillary Duff film, I believe my bourgeois behavior is vindicated. I totally blew my money on some Aldous Huxley, a Queen vinyl, and a My Little Fucking Pony with a moped. Her name is Cupcake, her favorite thing to do is baking (and eating) you guessed it- cupcakes, and her moped really goes. I know you're desperately jealous.

In any case, all this has put me in abnormally giddy spirits, which unsettles me. So to poison the punch bowl and restore my normal state of mind, I come bearing the most beautified Brian. Even his joy is a flame coming off of sadness, and we love him for it.

Oh my God, I fucking give up. I've been trying to get these fucking cuts to work because the computer is forcing me out of html mode. I hate everything! So ignore the double cut...I don't know what the hell I'm doing because I'm so tired. The second one is obviously the right one, even thought it takes you to the wrong goddamn place! I'm so mad.

Laura has stabbed me quite thoroughly with the blade of guilt, so here I am in all my somnolent glory. (Beauteous job, by the way, with the candy-cane shorts post). I don't know what time this post will display (God only knows on what time system Livejournal functions), but it is currently five something in the morning and I haven't been to sleep in days. I have sex daydreams about my bed now. No, not about somebody in the bed. Not even about a Queen in the bed. Just about the bed. If you can even imagine how that happens.

There are five people currently asleep in my room, the names of whom I do not know. My roommate didn't seem to think me worthy of even an introduction. Is that odd? Or am I really that insignificant? In any case, I feel thorougly unloved. So I defer my unwanted love to all of you, in the form of sundry Queen photographs, mostly of the Asian persuasion, for which you will at least give me an amorous spark. I don't foresee many of my characteristically bombastically facetious captions, though, so rejoice. I don't know if I've used real words here. I apologize en avance for any raping of the English language in my coming comments, ie blatant violations of grammar and spelling, omission of vital words (like "is," "the," you know, articles, verbs, that kind of thing...you might have to use some serious inference skills to figure out what I'm trying to say) At least I'm not writing slash. I don't even want to know how that would turn out right now. Things would probably end up places where they didn't belong...

I've been incredibly slack in posting...however, I have other things to do that are really important, but somehow looking at Queen pictures became a bigger priority.
