Add a little romance to your living space.
Install dimmer switches where dimmed lighting makes sense, like in the dining room and hallways. Dimming a light by 25% saves an equal percentage of energy.
However, it may cost you to spend a little more of your own energy since it's more romantic and naughty things may happen more frequently ;)

The only problem with dimmer switches is that they are not good for energy efficient florescent bulbs (running them dimmed or at less then full brightness seriously reduces their lifespan).

However, they are really nice in the right places, like you say! I have a dimmer on my dining room, and we almost always have it dimmed when we eat in there.

exactly. I didn't think you could even dim them.

I second blueheron. They do make dimmable compact florescents but I can't seem to find them anywhere and when I tried to dim regular ones they started making this faint high pitched screach that drove me crazy.
