Print finely and click daily
Two things in this post:
Firstly: As mentioned in the comments to this thread, there's a really neat paper-saving program called Fine Print that you can get from http://www.fineprint.com/.
Once installed, the software appears as another printer.
To use it, you simply print to the printer named "Fine Print" from any Windows application. You're then presented with a menu (which I found to be quite intuitive) that lets you specify how many pages to put on one page, and whether to print single or double sided.
The first time you print double sided, the program will print a few test pages and ask you a few questions so it "knows" how to send data to the printer.
A license costs US$49.95, but the free version is fine for most purposes. The difference is that the free version only lets you print eight pages at a time, and it prints "Printed by Fine Print" on every sheet of paper (which doesn't matter if you're only printing a version for proof-reading or whatever).
Gah, I'm starting to sound like an advertisement. :)
Secondly: I first came across Fine Print from an advertisement on The Hunger Site (http://www.thehungersite.com/). The Hunger Site is a site that you visit, click a button, and see an advertisement, and the advertisement pays for some food for a starving person. There are links to other charity click-to-donate sites too, and you can click each site in the network once per day. It takes less than 2 minutes to visit all the sites (well, depending on your connection speed).
