Run Your Dishwasher at Night
It's getting hot out. If you are using fans or air conditioning to cool your home, here is another idea for you.

Run Your Dishwasher, Washing Machine, and Dryer at Night

Your appliances add heat to your home. Wait until the night when the weather has cooled down before running them. You will avoid adding heat to your home, which will avoid the need for your air conditioner to work harder.

Another good tip (that I can not follow, unfortunately) is: if you can re-arrange things in your kitchen, move the fridge far away from the dishwasher and stove (or any other heat-releasing machines). I believe I read that at least a foot was needed, if possible.

That's a great idea! You ought to submit it as its own post. I wish I could do that but I live in an apartment. Someday...

Wouldn't it be a better idea to run your appliance when you are not going to be home, allowing the heat to dissapate? If I run the dishwasher at night, it will be warmer and harder to sleep and thus there will be more of a need for AC.
