| About: | This community is for artists who want to "stay in shape" by drawing at least one thing a day. The goal here isn't to post finished works of art worthy of the cieling of the Sistine Chapel. The idea is to be prolific and draw at least one thing every day. By posting your work in this community, you have the opportunity to get feedback and constructive criticism, and offer help to other artists who are trying to improve. The doodles you post here shouldn't take more than ten minutes of your time (though if you finish it later on, that's fantastic! And we'd love to see it!). Anybody who is serious about artwork and able to commit to posting at least one sketch every day or two is welcome to join! It's also good if you're willing to give feedback and constructive criticism to other members--after all, the community is only as good as its members make it. ^_^ Of course, there are a few ground rules: 1. Post sketches, and post them often! We aren't going to hunt you down with torches and pitchforks if you don't post every single day, but the general idea is to be prolific, and to encourage people to draw something every day. 1b. Any medium is acceptable! It doesn't matter if your sketches are done in pencil, pen, oil paint, or on the computer. Use whatever medium you want (as long as it's legal ^_-). 1c. (Added 7/6/06) This sort of went without saying before, but PLEASE try to keep your work somewhat family friendly. Artistic udity is alright (please LJ-cut it and post with a warning), but this is not a forum for graphic depictions. If you like to create works that are (potentially) shocking, we certainly don't want to stop you, but this is just not the place to post it. Moderators will confer and use their own discretion when it comes to what is and is not appropriate. 2. Constructive criticism! The second goal of this community is to offer constructive feedback on the artwork that gets posted so that folks can improve on their art. Negative, degrading, insulting, inflamatory and downright mean comments and criticism wil not be tollerated and are grounds for removal from the community. 3. If your sketch is more than 700 pixels in any direction, or over 100kb in size, please post it behind an LJ-cut tag. If you don't know how LJ-cut tags work, click here. 4. Plagiarism will not be tollerated! You will be warned, and if you continue, you will be banned. 5. Be responsible, and play nice. ^_^ | |
