5:00 pm [poeticsadness]	[Mod Post] Our new name and member nickname Our new name which was voted on by the members in the October 2006 meeting Our member nickname voted on by the majority in our forum post about our name change We're no longer referred to as DAF, DAFers, and all of that. It will be Deltaku (Delaware + Otaku). In addition, our name has changed. Please update your myspaces, signatures, profiles and what not accordingly. Our new name is DACE. We will still use the old DAF links like www.delawareanimefans.com, our ml, this link and what not to help eliminate confusion. That and the DACE name is too long for a url (lol). Website changes to reflect our change will take place shortly. In the meantime, feel free to make us some DACE and Deltaku graphics. We'll need them. 3:48 pm [poeticsadness]	Special DAF Go League meeting with Guest Speaker For anyone who's been interested in taking up the game of Go, there’s no time like now to do it! The Delaware Anime Fans (DAF) Go League (daf_go_league) will be hosting an informal Go seminar at the July 15th Hockessin Library meeting with special guest Dr. Peter Nassar, founder of the Penn Go Club and Vice President of the Philadelphia Baduk Association. Dr. Nassar will be going over various fundamentals of the game as well as using workbooks and an oversized hanging Go board to look at and review Go problems. Don't hesitate to drop by and check this out, you're sure to come away from it w/ a better understanding of one of Asia's most popular board games. Expect to play some games too. The DAF Go League Founded 5/13/2006 GO at DAF Meeting 5/13/06 The DAF Go League: In our ongoing endeavors to spread Asian culture, and thanks to a sponsorship through the American Go Association, Delaware Anime Fans proudly announces the founding of the DAF Go League! The League is looking for anyone, experienced or not, who's interested in playing, learning or teaching what is considered by many as the ultimate strategy game. The League will meet at each DAF meeting starting at the May 27th meeting at the Newark Public Library and everyone is welcome to join in. The equipment will be provided; all you need to bring is yourself and your curiosity. A Brief Description: The game originated in China around 200 BC; over the centuries, the game has spread across the rest of Asia and goes by a variety of names (Baduk, Weiqi, Igo etc). Two players take turns placing stones on a gridded board. Each attempts to take control and defend as much of the board as possible while preventing their stones from being surrounded and captured.
