Strengths: I'm always organised about things and don't procrastinate, I'm usually emotionally self-controlled, I'm fairly open-minded, and I'm pretty multi-faceted, so I can at least come across as being many different things depending on what the situation calls for.
Weaknesses: Impatience is my worst point (I don't mean impatience over waiting in line or anything; it's more to do with me. If I want something bigger, like a change in how well I can do a task, I want to be better at it -now- despite knowing that it does in fact take not only hard work but also time). I'm also moody and can be shy when it comes to people I don't know.
Hobbies: Same as in 'likes', really - swimming, reading, writing, anime.
Fears: Spiders. But on a deeper level, I fear not growing to be a strong person, and that I'll fall short of my own expectations.
Favorite book(s)? Anything at all by Sherryl Jordan, The Sevenwaters Trilogy by Juliet Marillier, and the Otori trilogy by Lian Hearn. Basically, I go for the fantasy and historical fiction genre when it comes to novels.
Favorite movie? The Lord of the Rings, The Last Samurai, Sin City.
Favorite quote? "Know Thyself." I know it's something that so many people say, but I think that there' a lot more to it than knowing basic stuff about yourself like what you like and dislike. Really knowing yourself - what actually fundamentally makes you tick - is the work of a lifetime, but I believe it's also one of the keys to life itself, so to speak.
How do you want to die?: Hopefully in a relatively peaceful way. I'd like to think that when the time comes, it wouldn't bother me so much.
Do you have any special talents? Swimming would be my main talent, as I've been swimming competitively since a young age. And writing I suppose, although that depends on what people like to read.
In your group of friends, where do you stand (leader... follower... comic relief... etc): I'm more of a follower, although I can also be a bit of a loner. I go along with whatever goes on, and if there's something I don't like or wan to do, I just absent myself.
When you imagine yourself ten or fifteen years down the road, what do you see yourself doing: I don't know. But that's the fun part, to some extent. I know what I want to have done in that time (completed my PhD, traveled some, maybe had a kid), but I don't know what I'll actually be doing at the end of all that.
Which is more important to you? Love, or duty: I think the two can go quite nicely hand in hand. But if I have to go with one, I'll pick duty.
If you were a color, what would you be a why: Deep blue, or black. I'm not a particularly loud personality, so it would have to be a darker or cooler colour. And blue is a watery colour, which would also suit me just fine. Or black might do, since I've been told I'm a hard person to figure out.
Is there anything else we should know about you? I don't think so.

I'm tall(ish) at 5'10"/177cm, and slim and tan from all the outdoor swimming training that I do. I have straight, dark brown hair (dyed from the original blonde) that I'm growing long, and bluey-green eyes.

Describe your ideal party: I prefer smaller gatherings to larger parties. So something more casual and fun, with people around that I actually know and like.
Describe your ideal significant other: Intelligent, witty, self-aware, curious, stable, cool-headed.
Describe your style: Simple and tidy. I don't go for lots of flashy colours or heaps of jewelery or anything, but I do like to look good and show off my femininity in more understated ways.
Do you have any dreams/aspirations? If so, what are they? My immediate goal is to finish up my current Honours year at University and go on to complete my PhD. And my overall dream is to become a strong person; independent, self-reliant and confident.

Are you more optimistic or pessimistic? Pessimistic. My outlook on life isn't necessarily negative, but I tend to be fairly cynical regarding people in general.

Favourite Character and why: Alec. At first I didn't like him at all, but he really grew on me after a while, especially as Max grew darker and more sullen (understandably). He's intelligent, which I always like. He's more complicated than he looks, which I also like - I prefer characters where what you see isn't necessarily what you get. And he makes me laugh, which is always a bonus.
Favourite Episode: C.R.E.A.M was pretty good because Max got to kick arse in a black-market casino. I also really enjoyed the beginning episodes of the second season, because Alec made his appearances in some pretty cool ways.
Favourite Quote from DA: This one by Normal cracked me up:"Well, well, well . . . so far, your moron colleagues have come up with the following excuses for why you're strolling in here at the crack of noon - you had a dental emergency, your aunt died . . . again, and my personal favorite from this idiot - you were detained by the sector police for practicing witchcraft. What is your political standing? Liberal, I guess. Pro-abortion, anti-war, etc. I don't like politics much, but I can't stand ultra-conservatism and extreme right politics. I have a problem with anything extremist though.
What is your opinion on social classes? New Zealand isn't big on social classes, so I can't really say. It's one of those things I need to experience in order to have any strong opinion on.

Describe your ideal party: A casual get together with friends involving some music, some drinks, and lots of conversation.

Describe your style: I have a pretty laid back style. My style really revolves around jeans and differant types of tops. I do regular shirts on normal days and cute funky tops when I'm feeling especially cute and want to look nice.

Describe your ideal party: i'm not big in the party scene, but just a couple of friend chillaxing is usually pretty awesome.
Describe your ideal significant other: someone who makes up for my flaws, someone who's honesty and definately funny because without humor, there really is no point to life.
Describe your style: hahah, that's a tough one. i'm pretty hybrid when it comes to clothes - i wear whatever i like. there really aren't very many rules to what i wear except that it has to be very comfortable.
Do you have any dreams/aspirations? If so, what are they? i dream of becoming a doctor. plain and simple, i only see myself doing that one thing and nothing else. i don't even know what i'd do if i ever changed my mind...

Favourite Quote from DA: funny how the cut is called "hope is for losers" because my favorite quote was that one. i remember rewatching the pilot in that very beginning part because that quote pretty much summarized the entire show.
Opinions, etc. i wish they never cancelled "dark angel" but i guess the season two couldn't really live up to the amazingness of season one. maybe someday, they'll bring it back, but until then, i have the DVDs to rely on. :)
What is your political standing? i don't follow any one party, but i learn towards more moderate standings. i don't believe in very liberal ideas, and i don't believe in very conservative ideas. i don't think any extreme can help better the world.
What is your opinion on social classes? it's unnecessary, but it exists. there's no way to control the wealth and the classes in the world, but if we were to get rid of it all, then we'd become socialists and that would just be weird. it's there for a reason, i guess, to keep the delicate balance of the earth.

Which is more important to you? Love, or duty: Love, although in a way, I also consider that a duty. If you really love someone - or wait, let me phrase that differently. When I love someone, I consider it my responsibility to do whatever I can to ensure their happiness and well-being, and that comes before everything else.
If you were a color, what would you be a why: Definitely turquoise. Blue is a very calm and peaceful colour, but I think the addition of green in the colour turquoise adds a bit of vibrance that blue seems to lack.

You mean clothing? If i'm at home i don't care and just grab the first thing out of the closet. If i'm going to work (in the office), i tend to be a little bit more formal and grab a decent blouse and a pair of heels. If i'm going to work (in the hospital) i'll make sure my hair is pulled back (maybe a little severely) and i look pristine in the uniform, i mean, duh, it's a uniform. If i'm just going to university or to the shops, i tend to dress up more, leaning towards black, and dark red, no bright or pastel colours. Sometimes i bring my fake leather jacket, for laughs. The government is there for a purpose, to protect and guide the people. Unfortunately, the government is populated by mere humans who are easily corrupted. So i view everything that the government does with a jaundiced eye. Don't trust the government, don't trust the business, in the end, everyone is only out for themselves.

I never understood the reason for social classes. If it was by birth or amount of money in one's bank account, how does either make you better (or worse!) than any body else?

Do you have any dreams/aspirations? If so, what are they? to be rich and famous for starters. everything else can sort itself out after i've accomplished those two goals.

Location: A horribly small town in Ohio. Pity me.
Likes: Reading, thunderstorms, swimming, going shopping and hanging around with my friends, and listening to music. Um – chocolate is big on my list, definitely. Swimming. Mornings where I’ve stayed up all night and can watch the sunrise. Snow.
Dislikes:. Idiots. That’s first and foremost on my list. Um, close-minded people also annoy me, as well as things like spiders, clowns, someone else wearing an outfit I own, being teased by anyone who isn’t one of my best friends.
Strengths: Ah – I'm horribly good at getting my own way. I'm charming - people like me. In that vein, I’m good with people – especially children and people my own age. I’m popular – and that is a skill in my world, thank you very much. I can act well enough, and I love to cook. I'm a good writer.
Weaknesses: I get impatient with people – not so much with things, but I get pissed when I have to wait for people to get whatever I want them to get. I usually ask for advice and then totally disregard it, which I’ve been informed is a very weak point. I get defensive easily. I have a horrible temper. Pretty things, alas, also make me weak.
