WELCOME TO da_challenges!


This is a friendly, low pressure community for fans of Dark Angel who like to read and write fan-fiction. However, this NOT just another Dark Angel fan-fiction archive. Let me explain...

What exactly is the purpose of da_challenges?

This community was designed to help writers find ideas for stories to write, as well as to help readers with ideas for stories find potential writers for them.

I first got into reading fan-fiction a few years ago, and started dabbling with the idea of writing as time passed. I found that I had lots of ideas for different stories, but neither the time or the talent to write them. So, I started writing my ideas down and within a week, I had a handful. After a month, I started keeping better track of them, and kept a notebook with me wherever I went, so I could write notes down whenever inspiration struck. Now, it's been a couple years and I have more than 100 different stories that I would love to see written. While I plan on tackling one or two, there's simply no way I'll ever get to them all.

While a large portion of these 'potential stories' have been posted over at Nuns With Pens, and some of them have even been written, I still felt these ideas could use a larger audience. So, the idea for da_challenges was born.

Of course, when I really started thinking seriously about this community, I thought about all the other amazing Dark Angel challenges that I've read over the years. So, why shouldn't they get their place in the limelight as well?

Who is allowed to post at da_challenges?

MEMBERS ONLY. Now, that doesn't mean you have to join the community in order to read the posts. But, if you want to post your own challenges, or stop by with a link to a Dark Angel fanfic (which I strongly encourage!) that was inspired by a challenge, then you MUST join the community.

Is this strictly a site for Max/Alec shippers?

NO. I am strictly a Max/Alec shipper, but this comm welcomes ships of all kinds! You might notice most of the challenges here are M/A, but that's simply because those are the ones I'm most familiar with! If you have challenges for other pairings, or have a challenge without a pairing, please share it with us!

How can I post the story that I have written based off a challenge?

Have you written or updated a fic that was inspired by one of the challenges found here at da_challenges? Then by all means, let us know! Simply leave the name (or link) of the challenge, the title of the fic itself and a link to where the fic can be found in a comment to THIS thread! Then, I'll round up all the new fics and updates, and tell everyone about them in a mod post to this community at the end of the week!

Please make sure it's not archived somewhere that is 'friends-only'. We want to see it!

If at all possible, please also comment in the original challenge thread here at da_challenges with a link to the fic you wrote in answer to that challenge. Even if you don't think you met all the requirements, leave a link!
