AboutThis is a community about everything Czech - Czech language, film, literature, theatre, art ...
I studied Czech culture and history at university and I would love to share my "obsession" with everything Czech.
It is an open community and anybody may join. Feel free to comment or post news by yourself - everything on Czech culture - from today, the 90s, 80s, 70s,70s ... or the middle ages will be fine! You can comment in English, Czech, German.

Some information about me:
Since I met some Czech people in 1995 I have been kind of mad about everything Czech and started learning Czech and got to know everything I never wanted to know about koncovky, hacky, carky, vidy, 1001 pady, male alive, male unalive, female and neutral declinations and much much more. After I learnt how to introduce myself, ask for food and drinks and made frustrating efforts at pronouncing the ř (but cheered up when I got to know that apparently even Václav Havel cannot pronouce the ř probably) I travelled to Jesenik (almost got lost on my way) to take part at a workcamp in a children's camp (and ended up repairing flooded and destroyed streets, receiving fresh bread from Czech army helicopters and superhandsome Czech soldiers as all other ways to Jesenik where blocked after the flooding in 1997).
After finishing school I studied Czech culture and history (and film which has actually been my major...), spent some time in Brno and Prague and am now working as an editor in an educational publishing house. I'm still learning Czech language and trying to get by with the č, ř and š but I really miss getting information and learning new things about Czech film, literature, theatre ... That's why I decided to open this community!
