This is my first post in a community that needed to be made a long time ago in my opinion. And for my first post I'll post the first chapter to my very own Spike/Cordy fic "To Be Loved".

Title: Kind Strangers
Pairing: Spike/Cordy, Post-Dead Things, hurt/comfort

To say that Cordelia was surprised when Spike showed up on her doorstep one night was the biggest understatement ever. Sure, she’d heard that he wasn’t evil anymore and he had been helping the Scoobies. But, they were hardly close, mostly because of all the times he attempted to kill her. Still, when she saw the bruises on his face, she couldn’t turn him away. She washed off the dried blood and made him comfortable on the couch. He didn’t want to talk about it, but as she smoothed his hair back, he reached up and squeezed her hand gently.

Cordelia rolled her eyes as Spike applied black polish to his nails, “I keep telling you. The Billy Idol look is out.”

He smirked as he looked up, “Ah, the prom queen’s returned. Haven’t seen her for a while.”

She grinned, “Ah, the snarky vampire’s back. I thought we had lost him for good.” It was true. The past few months after Buffy died, he’d been so lost. It was good to see him happy again.

Spike winked at her, “The prom queen and the snarky vampire make a good team.”

Cordy crawled into his lap, “A very good team.”
