14/07/08. Hello everyone! I have to say, this has been the best round ever. Everyone has been very considerate, and the one person who needed to drop out told me with time enough to arrange a back-up. Now, I'm hoping that doesn't mean tomorrow I'll be getting 'Sorry, but....' emails. lol
So, to all the authors who've participated in this round: THANK YOU! The first and foremost objective of Choose your Author is to let you all have some fun, both as requesters and as requestées. ;) And in that spirit, I hope you had as much fun as I did. Hopefully you'll consider signing up in November!
To add your story, please add a comment with title, link, main characters/couples, rating and any other information you consider necessary.
To all the readers who'll happen along... I hope you'll enjoy this collection of stories - and send some feedback to the writers! You're also invited to browse through the memories, where you can find stories by character.

Two things first.
1) Anonymity has always been an unwritten rule at ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) cya_ficathon, and it's my own fault for not writing it. This once, a link to an author's work will be allowed, because it's really necessary to what she is offering to write. However, for the seventh round anonymity will be a requirement.
2) This one will be put to vote. Should participants who fail to write their assignment be allowed to re-enter 'Choose your Author'? Most of you know that I'm a very patient ficathon-mommy. If necessary, I can wait for weeks after the deadline; but what happens when the story never comes? I've had several complaints from the last couple of rounds - actually, it's one of the main reasons why CyA didn't open for over a year - and the choices are now these:
- a) Yes, they should be allowed to come back - no limits.
- b) No. If they fail once, they should go.
- c) They can be given a second chance. (Meaning: if you don't write a story, you can sign up on the next round. But if you miss that second story, you'll be banned.)
This, of course, does NOT apply to those who tell me they need to drop out before the deadline. OR to those who find their own back-up writer. ;)

The average request is:
Characters/Pairings you want the story to focus in.

Extras: highest rating, genre...
Make sure the request fits the author.
- THANK YOU to everyone who said yes to the back-up question. *hugs* I hope I won't have to knock your doors, but it's a real relief to know someone can help if needed.

f) The ‘official deadline’ is July 15th. However, you can email me the link to your betaed story and I’ll link to it from the masterlist.

I've decided to try something wild this time: Ten weeks to write the story. Why? Because I would really want as many stories delivered as humanly possible.
Of course, if you write (and beta!) your story sooner than that, you know you can post it before the deadline.
Spread the word, invite your friends. cya_ficathon is open to all BtVS/AtS writers, whatever the pairing, whatever the genre, whatever the rating... And, of course, crossovers are always an option. *winks*

After a year, I would really like to start another round.
Is there still any interest in signing up for Choose your Author?
This ficathon needs 20 participants at the very least - so I really would like to know that there'd be an interest before jumping in.
(The deadline could either be in June or July. I still am not sure. Thoughts?) |
